he also wears American tennis shoes http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,194260,00.html U.S. Military Releases Video Showing Zarqawi Unable to Work Gun Thursday, May 04, 2006 BAGHDAD, Iraq — The U.S. military command Thursday released previously unseen images of a video purportedly posted by Al Qaeda in Iraq's leader, showing him decked out in American tennis shoes and unable to operate his machine gun. Authorities also said 31 "foreign fighters" had been killed since April and 161 Al Qaeda in Iraq leaders were killed or captured since January, seriously undercutting the group's logistical abilities. The video, discovered in a series of raids in April on purported Al Qaeda in Iraq safe houses in the Youssifiyah area, 12 miles southwest of Baghdad, gave a view of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi that the Jordanian-born militant chose not to show the world, said Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, spokesman for the U.S. command. "It's supposed to be automatic fire, he's shooting single shots. Something is wrong with his machine gun, he looks down, can't figure out, calls his friend to come unblock the stoppage and get the weapon firing again," Lynch said. "This piece you all see as he walks away, he's wearing his black uniform and his New Balance tennis shoes as he moves to this white pickup. And, his close associates around him ... do things like grab the hot barrel of the machine gun and burn themselves," the military spokesman added. Lynch said that U.S. operations against al-Zarqawi had dramatically cut the number of suicide attacks in the country from an average of 75 per month to fewer than 25 per month now. more story in link
so this is how we get back at terrorists, make fun of the shoes they wear and how they are firing a gun... im sure they are really hurt. they might just give up now due to the embarrasment suffered
I figured either you or your pal Azadre would take issue with my making fun of a terrorist. Makes me wonder whose side you're on.... goodbye
Neither of those are true. Both received support from the US. That doesn't equate to 'worked for.' To charge that Zarqawi IS working for the CIA is an even more heinous charge considering he's actively engaged in killing Americans.
make fun of them all you want, but is it really accomplishing anything? are we winning anything. the only thing that is being accomplished is people are seeing what our priorities are, and apparently making fun of the enemy is right up there. Its stuff like this that makes the actions at abu G seem to be purposeful and planned. but then again, only fox has printed this article, so most should understand... did you see aljazeera make fun of how dick cheney cant tell the difference between human and animal while hunting, and also happens to eat hummus... Guess that shows you the difference between decent news companies and a crap one.
Sure, it makes him look incompetant and silly. That'll might make a potential recruit think twice since he's obviously not some warrior king. It may not but there's nothing wrong with releasing the footage.
