I think we should have a thread made for the purpose of just answering those random questions that we all get from time to time. Whether it's a matter of opinion, facts, or just something stupid you were wondering - if it doesn't need it's own thread to be answered, post it in here, and let's see the power of the BBS.

I started this thread to ask this question:

Does anyone else eat a pizza sub with mayonnaise? Talk about delicious! The pizza sauce and mayo mix together to create heaven-in-a-sauce.

    Who else has discovered this?

How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?

I keep asking this stupid owl, but he keeps eating my damn tootsie pops after three f***ing licks!

    Funny story...

My girlfriend got that cd for her birthday one year, I think like her 13th birthday. Anywho, she puts the cd in and starts dancing to it, and BAM. Broken Foot. Now, if anyone ever asks me, "Who Let The Dogs Out?" , well, the answer is simple. :D

Serious question. It just popped in my head. In Football, if the offense does a toss to the running back and the defender catches the toss because he came in untouched, is that an interception??

My guess is it's a fumble recovery. My logic is a completed toss doesn't count as a reception for the qb or receiver.

And Omega Supreme, yes, yes it does.....my, errrr, friend told me.

And I can't speak for pizza, but fries w/ mayo > fries w/ ketchup.

Here's a serious one. What's the point of weigh stations for trucks on highways? I've had this discussion a few times w/ friends on roadtrips.

Because there are weight limits on commercial trucks.

-What the hell is a balk?

-Why does the catcher throw to first after dropping a pitch that strikes out a batter? What happens if the batter reaches 1st? Is it still a strikeout? What if the strikeout is the 3rd out?

    That's always confused me.

If the catcher drops the strike or can't catch it, or if it's a wild pitch but the batter struck out swinging, the batter can still reach base, and the SO doesn't count. In that case he has to be tagged or the ball has to be thrown to first for an out. If it's the third out, it doesn't matter. He has no chance to reach base.

Doesnt it still count if its the 3rd out? Isn't that how Anaheim got screwed in the playoffs last year. Their catcher threw the ball to the mound instead of throwing to first to get the third out on a wild pitch.

It's semi-hard to define a balk, because there are a lot of reasons it might be called on a pitcher, but it pretty much boils down to the pitcher trying to deceive the runners in some way into thinking he's going to throw a pitch, but instead he throws the ball to a base in an attempt to tag out the runner.

Basically, if you step up to the rubber on the mound and begin your pitch, you have to actually pitch. Stopping your pitch in mid-pitch, or "faking" out the runner with a half pitch to try to throw him out is a balk, and the runners are awarded a free base.

Yes, even if it's for the third out, the batter still has to be tagged or thrown out if there's a dropped pitch.

I like mayonnaise on meatball subs at Subway.
