Pretty cold blooded.... You've got mail: Your RadioShack job is gone FORT WORTH — RadioShack Corp. followed through on its announced plans to cut about 400 jobs, bypassing face-to-face notification in favor of e-mail. "The workforce reduction notification is currently in progress," the notice stated. "Unfortunately your position is one that has been eliminated." Derrick D'Souza, a management professor at the University of North Texas, said he had never heard of such a large number of terminated employees being notified electronically. statesman briefs
Homer: We'll search out every place a sick twisted solitary misfit might run to. Lisa: I'll start with Radio Shack.
i hope someone stays after reading the email just so they can force someone to tell him personally to leave.
This is chicken sh*t...At least have the balls to tell you in person... on a side note, couldn't you just delete it, or better yet, never open it and move it to a folder so the return reciept won't work...
This story has got me a bit perplexed. I've discussed this on a Dallas forum and there was an article up here that basically made Radio Shack look bad as well, but here's what that article said happened : 1) These people knew beforehand that they may get the boot 2) An email was sent stating they were fired 3) Within 30 minutes they met with their supervisors <--- important, no? 4) They met with HR reps. So at least from that article it didn't seem like it was a case of "you're fired" via email and you were told to leave without anything face-to-face happening...
Do people in Houston still shop at Radio Shack? I remember in the 80's when it was the place to be for EVERYTHING electronic, hell my first computer (TANDY) came from Radio Shack.. Now Radio Shack seems like it's a huge garage sale on outdated and overpriced electronics and parts..
Imagine if you was out that day. You would look like Chuckie Brown Lacing them up in Pheonix Rocket River
the media is just trying to get a rise out of people on this by focusing in on just the one portion of the process..."the e-mail". apparently, it is working.
Still a ****ty thing to do. They get the hard part out of the way without having to tell the person face to face. They may have to speak to the fired employee, but they're still giving him/her their first notice they no longer have a job via e-mail. That's crappy.
i've always hated RAdio Shack. why anyone would shop there is beyone me. they sell 12 foot phone cords for 10 bucks. WTF? i can get that crap at the 99 cent store.
Did somebody post an article here or maybe I saw this on tv about how in England, they fire peopel with text messages to their mobiles. I mean it literally says "U R Fired." Or, actually, since it's England, probably "U R Sacked."
