The Rockets have stockpiled players from the Class of 2009 (5 Total). Not sure if Morey was considering this a deep draft class or not but he sure seems enamored with the players in it. I don't think we have ever had this many young players on the Rockets at one time, we have always pursued experienced players to fill out our roster and it seems that we have gone completely towards a youth movement which can only push back targeting a championship to 4 - 6 years down the road.

What I thought was kind of interesting about the players that we have from that class, each one can or does play a position where all 5 could feasibly be on the court at the same time. Take a look:

    POS._____NAME___________HT._____AGE___Draft #

    P.G. - Terrence Williams ___(6-6)____ 23 __ Pick #11
    S.G. - Chase Budinger ____ (6-7)____ 22 __ Pick #44
    S.F. - DeMarre Carroll _____(6-8)____ 24 __ Pick #27
    P.F. - Jordan Hill _________ (6-10)___ 23 ___Pick #8
    ..C. - Hasheem Thabeet ___ (7-3)____ 24 ___Pick #2

I'd love to see Adelman run that lineup just once this season and see how these guys mesh. I'm sure we would get completely annihilated but who cares, this season is over anyway! Would have to be one of the tallest lineups in the league!

Damn, I hadn't noticed the 3 or 4 other threads bringing up this exact point.

Our youth movement seems like the remnants of other teams' bowel movements... hopefully a scenery change will help them.

im not sure if morey was enamored with that draft class, or simply it wasn't that deep of a draft so those players are more easily pried from the teams that drafted them. even if its the latter i think its a good way to take a chance on young talent with a lot of upside.

Or the class has too many busts teams are already giving up on them after less than two years.

The fact that Chase Budinger, the only second rounder, is going to be the only starter among these group says a lot.

Who would've thought that we would have 5 guys from 09Draft (maybe 7 -Taylor and Llull) with 3 of them being lottery picks.

If someone said before the draft that we would have that many guys in 09 with the 2nd, 8th, and 11th lottery picks... never would've believed it.
