The time has come! And if you are someone like me who enjoys living off the land (at least sometimes.) and prefer outdoors, your vegetable garden is probably underway. Right now, I have peas (little marvel kind) coming out pretty well. My other season crop - Broccoli is not doing as well, but the harvest should be adequate. After the harvest of both, my plan is to have strawberries, tomatoes, and peppers throughout the summer. I would like to hear from other vegetable garden people with their garden plans ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
No room for veggies off an apt. terrace in New York City! So I do what's best! FLOWERS!!!! Although its still a bit early to get anything into the ground (or should I say pots), I just started making out my Home Depot shopping list for the next few weekends! ------------------ Everything you do, effects everything that is.
I just don't have much space available where I live now, but I do have some better boy seeds planted in some little containers as well as some jalepenos. I'll move them to my little patch some time next month, and I've got some cilantro and some basil growing in some little planters. I also have a nice rosemary plant. When it comes to the yard, my wife...who has no green thumb at all...is more style than substance, so I have to do more flowers that veggies. I do have seven rose bushes and half a dozen hybiscus. This past weekend we planted three gardenias, a bunch of gladiolas, some callo lillies, some begonias, and some mums. My favorite plants though: my two sago palms; they have to be the coolest thing to watch grow ever. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature
Up until last year, I lived in an apartment for 6 years while starting out (moved out, got married, two little girls) and I've always enjoyed my "very" own vegetables since I was a kid. Nothing wrong at all using pots for your plants. The main thing is the enjoyment. ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
