Don't know how to put this exactly - it's mostly a kind of a request, I guess.

As I was watching the game last night, I realized that there were at least a couple of different moments which became 'Tivo Moments' for me - I had to pause, rewind, see them again, even watching in slow motion. They were either extraordinarily cool (to me at least), or something out-of-the-ordinary enough that I needed to see it again to really grasp it.

Just for inromation's sake, those moments, as I recall, in last night's game against the T-Wolves were:

    * The double-down on Yao, when Yao found Hayes wide open under the basket, fired the pass to him, and Chucky catches and takes it in all in one motion.. it is actually pretty amazing watching Hayes, the way he contorts his body when he has the ball around the basket - he's like some kind of coiled-up spring that just got sprung.

    and

    * The fast break near the end of the game when Rafer seemed to not be able to get a handle on the ball; TMac was running up the left side, and it looked like it was going to be an easy bucket. But then Rafer just seemed like he couldn't get ahold of the ball, and the fast break opportunity would be blwon. Then, all of a sudden, in a flash, Rafer somehow grabbed the ball and fired kind of a sideways-underhanded bullet to TMac after it even seemed possible to still do ti - TMac catches it and streaks up for the left-handed layup. It was spectacular! Had to see that one several times.

Anyway, I was just curious about other peoples' 'Tivo Moments', and as I do not have any way to get any of those moments of my own posted anywhere, I was hoping that some enterprising soul might find it within himself to somehow possibly post some other 'Tivo Moments' (DVR Moments?) for us to enjoy.

Not that I don't mind seeing people post whole games and all - I see each game, pretty much, already. But the highlight clips in the internet are few and far between, and as often as not showcase our opponents as much as us.

It would just be nice to be able to see what other people single out as moments of interest in the games - not necessarily the highlight reel plays that every common fan would pick, but perhaps indivual moments of interest for whatever reason you might have.

Anybody have any favorite 'Tivo/DVR Moments' ?

Team-Mac's behind the back pass to Yao!

Rafer's 'And-1' pass to Hayes, but Chuckie missed the layup :( Probably would've gotten top ten assists of the year honours. I think JVG must let Alston do that on the next fast break oppurtunity.

Tmac's behind the back pass and Yao's last second fade away in Shaq's eye.

A couple of weeks ago when Snyder was still playing and he made a stupid foul on the defensive end, at the end of a quarter, having just come out of a timeout. As the team went back to the sideline they showed JVG and he was yelling at Snyder "Kirk, I just told you...I just told you not to foul...I just F'ing told you..."

    It was classic.

That is classic. It seems to me like Van Gundy knows his players better than most coaches. I like how he deals with Yao, Mcgrady, the veterans and the youngsters.

Yeah, it was classic, but the thread was talking about moments that you would watch in slow motion. So did you watch that in slow motion? :D

    JVG barking :" K-i-r-k... I... j-u-s-t... t-o-l-d... y-o-u..." :p

Not a specific moment per se, but I do rewatch plays or critical portions of games many times. I watch more for analysis than ESPN highlight plays.

For example, I carefully rewatched Novak's brief stint against the Grizz the other day. Based on that and watching him (usually more than once) in the preseason, I think the criticism of him as a one trick pony/poor defender/rebounder is way overblown.

As I recall, in his few minutes on the floor against the Grizz:

    - he pumpfaked Cardinal at the 3 point line, side stepped for the 18 footer, and then found Yao in the paint for the assist and the easy slam - unfortunately Gay blocked Yao from behind

    - he got back in transition d to stop Tmac's man after Tmac dribbled the ball off his foot, and then closed on Cardinal forcing a miss from the top of the key

    - he fouled Gay after Gay had beaten Tmac into the lane preventing a point blank shot

    - he scored 3 points on 2 shots.

My guess is that it is his help defense that is keeping him off the floor - rebounding and on the ball defense is as good or better than JHo or Scott P IMO.

    Two non-Novak comments

    - Hayes is a great help defender - maybe even better than Battier.

    - Rafer and Chuck are developing some chemistry - when Rafer drives the baseline from the corner, look for him to find Chuck diving into the lane.

Not exactly exciting plays, but it helps me separate the wheat from the chafe when reading about how Novak's defense sucks and other such stuff ....

    - The way Yao towers over his defenders. All he has to do is catch the ball, wait around 5 seconds, then just step up and shoot over his man. His natural tendency to lean back means he can never be blocked, and his J is so accurate it is very beautiful.

    - Rafer can make a fast break out of nothing - he will crossover his man, get into the lane, crossover their interior defense, then finish with the teardrop - did it against Minny, also against the Grizz where he drew the and1.

    - Battier with the gamebreaking corner pump-fake three - are you kidding me?? Never knew he could do that.

    - Luther Head - it's funny to see this guy keep developing into a better player, and he is learning from TMac some of his tricks. Such as his willingness to knock down the quick three-ball if he's open, and in classic TMac fashion, his fake cut along the baseline, step back out to three point land where he gets to ball and shoots the three... he's learning from the best :)

No. It's about any moment you went back to look at again, slow motion or not.
