    Yao Ming
    Tmac
Rafer-if he can score 5 good pts a night, if...
Chuck-make a layup or two, and give you 4 pts a night
Shane-good player, great defender, can give you about 5 pts a night
Bench-bunch of unwanted players out there, james, francis, same as last year.

a 100 pts game, the rest goes to yao and tmac, and we all know the weakness that yao and tmac has.

we might have a chance against denver in the first round, face any other teams in the first round, same result, don't be too optimistic, just the fact.

that is if we can make it to the first round

Last year we only had one offensive liability in Hayes, this year we have three.
But, our reserves are not much better than those three either.

That's why we're not making the playoffs this year. We have 2 to 3 offensive liabilities *starting* for us. It doesn't take a Rocket scientist to know that this is going to be a disaster.

    That's a good one! ;)
Rafer is working himself out of the job by the day. At least this is one bright spot ... for me.

I am going on a 3-week vacation. When I return, I want to see Rafer coming off the bench or benched altogether or better yet, traded.

Francis (I would remind him no dribble and shoot anymore, just make entry pass to Yao or Scola, first guy running back to defend fast break, mainly just drives to the basket to score or dish)
Battier (to be a 3-pt shooter at the corners and defense specialist, makes entry pass, most of time running from one corner to the another thru the key to create chaos or get Yao/Scola help to lose his defender)
T-Mac (top of the key to drive and score/dish, sometimes shoots 3 pointer, makes entry pass, also first guy to run back to defend fast break)
Scola and Yao (Scola and Yao can play post up on either side, sometimes shoot mid-range js, if scola miss, Yao can rebound from weak side, vice versa)

Oh well, I do not coach so it's just me try to think what would I do if I am the coach. I hope it doesn't sound ridiculous to some posters who actually knows how to coach.

This thread is a retread of many other threads, but I will post my scenario again just so that I can read it myself. :p

    Starters/Reserves

    Steve, Mike
    Tmac, Snyder
    Bonzi, Shane
    Luis, Chuck
    Yao, Dek

With Aaron Brooks and Luther on getting some looks when Mike or Snyder are playing very badly. Rafer needs to be traded or only play if everyone is hurt, he has nothing to give us especially in fourth quarters when most games will be won. Leave Novak in permanent D-League. Landry can play if Luis and Chuck are in foul trouble.

Lastly we need to get a better backup center that can score in the post or midrange game.

Rick Adelman needs to stop playing these players in different positions and let them only play the positions and rotations that I am giving him, or he will continue to SUCK! Starters play 32 to 38 minutes per game MAX! The bench players behind each starter gets his leftover minutes out of 48. STOP ROTATING PLAYERS INTO DIFFERENT POSITIONS WHEN THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WITH ONE POSITION!

Let Mike play only the point, he doesn't know where to be at the two.
Let Snyder play only the two, he doesn't know where to be at the three.
Let Shane play only the three and guard threes, make the other players play Defense also
Let Scola/Chuck play only the four, they are NOT CENTERS, and are undersized fours as it is!

Rotations will work better with each player knowing his position and who he will sub for. He can watch that man play and know what he needs to do when he gets in the game. Of course occasionaly fouls or injuries will mean variations and some minor changes will have to happen, but this should be RA's game plan unless the team is on a 20 game win streak!

This lineup has no defense at all. Let's give Shane some love.

First, I hope you're one of our Chinese posters because otherwise your writing ability is unforgivable. I had to reread it several times to even understand what you were trying to say.

Second, my starting lineup would be:

    Yao - C
    Hayes - PF
    McGrady - SF
    Bonzi - SG
    Francis - PG

I don't know if that would be the best line up, but I'm sick of having three offensive liabilities in our starting line up and in particular I'd be interested in seeing if Bonzi and Francis would become more comfortable in a starting role and if Battier might become more comfortable returning to a role off the bench.

Third, you claim the Rockets will average 100 points a game, but have Rafer, Shane and Chuck combining for 14 points a game, and assign the rest of that 100 points to T-Mac and Yao. They're going to combine for 86 points a game? That's amazing. Are you giving them a 43 point per game split or is T-Mac going to average 50 while Yao goes for a mere 36 points per game?

And I think when you say "We all know the weakness that Yao and T-Mac has" you actually mean "We all know Yao and T-Mac's respective weaknesses", but you made it sound like they only have one weakness and it is shared by both of them. Seriously, the English language can be your friend.

    Finally,

That makes no sense at all. We might have a chance against Denver, but any other team would be the same result? What result? That we might have a chance or the same result as last season? I'm assuming you mean the same result as last season, but your meaning is less than clear to be certain.

And just the fact? What fact. There is no fact in that "sentence". There is only opinion. Your opinion to be specific.

The "fact" is that we've played the toughest schedule of any team in the NBA to date and we're still above .500. It only gets easier from here on out. Now my opinion (I won't claim it to be a fact): we will easily make the playoffs. I suspect we'll be no lower than the 5th seed. We should also have adjusted better to Adelman's system by that point and be playing considerably better basketball. I won't predict a first round victory, because I still don't know who we'll play - but I can't imagine teams like the Nuggets, Lakers, Grizzlies, or Warriors beating us in a best of 7. I also don't think Utah stands much of a chance. I don't think they could have beaten us last year if either a.) we had a decent third scoring option or b.) they didn't have Derek Fisher. This year we have three or four guys capable of picking up the slack on the scoring load and they no longer have the Rocket killer Derek Fisher. I know Brewer is playing well for them, but I just don't fear that guy killing us with 3's in the playoffs. Now, if we face the Spurs, Mavs or Suns in the first round - then I'm not all that optimistic. I still think we have a slim chance, but we just don't seem to be on that level yet.

p.s. I know I was an elitist prick in this thread but some of these newer posters are really destroying the English language and making this board difficult to read.
