I was just wanting to get an opinion from everybody on why the Rockets are on a hot streak. Personally I think it is from Olajuwon's resurgence and the schedule.

I think winning is an inevitablity when you have guys like Steve Francis an Cuttino Mobley on your team. It's just gonna happen sooner or later.

I think our team is all more comfortable playing together, but, and I hate to be the prick, but our schedule hasn't exactly been that difficult lately when compared with the beginning of the season.

Every team has soft spots in their schedules, and they have to take advantage of it, which the rockets have. They've done this, and gone a step further and stolen some games from some good teams.

The Rockets are giving it their all almost every game now, on both ends of the court. Their defense isn't great, but they usually get stops when they count. An example of this was the end of the third quarter during the Milwaukie game. The Bucks had scored on about 10 straight posessions, before the Rockets recognized this, and stepped up the defense to build an 18 point lead at the end of the quarter. The Rockets have gotten much better at recognizing runs from other teams, and countering them. Rudy has done a much better job with the rotations, and all the players seem to be happy with their roles. They have real chemistry.
Hakeem has stepped up and provided a huge low post presence. He now fits in perfectly, and is rebounding like a mad-man. He has also been able to hit some big shots when the team has needed them most. Its just so good to have a big presence on the team. Mo has also improved in this department lately. The Rockets are really devloping a consistent scoring frontcourt.
Cuttino, when healthy, has taken much better shots, from mid-range areas. He is also driving to the hoop much more.
Steve is playing like an all-star.
Its all about the chemistry, and the desire. The intensity is there. NOW GO OUT AND CRUSH THOSE MAVS, before I take all this back!

The only hole, unfortunately, for Dream in this loss to the Mavs was free-throws. Rudy should get onto the Rockets next practice about the huge importance of producing from the charity stripe, imho. But it's alright, we're headed right toward another winning steak.

This game's final score hurts, considering this is the second time this week we blew a lead in quarter four. But of couse, to me, all Rocket's losses are flukes. [IMG] This one: no Cuttino Mobley. DAMN TECHNICALS! DAMN! Why can't they call a T on Nash or Howard. This loss really hurts, mostly because of our lead. So most of the blame is ours.

I take my vote back for putting the ball in Steve's hands, Clutch. Dribbling the ball off his foot...does anybody else agree he should have waited to jack up that three with 21 seconds remaining. [IMG]

Yea I'm alright that he took the shot, because it was a good one, but he was a little too excited to get it off and probably could have slowed down to get off a more controlled shot. He took the right shot though.

Stevie made a decision based on security, taking a shot with 21 seconds gives you enough time for another shot if you miss. Yes, it did seem a little rushed but he had seperation and control, it was a good attempt that just didn't go in. You can't expect Stevie to make every shot he puts up.

When you're down three, you can't miss. Not when the team you're playing shoots lights out from the line.

They had several problems at the Dallas game let's just hope they go on another streak here with the next several games against the bottom dwellers of the NBA.

i agree with lil pun- i think we go on a lot of short win streaks due to the schedule. now that dream is back at 100% our offence is three dimensional, and we have a real shot blocker on defence. that helps too.

I pretty much agree with what everybody else is saying. They are DEFINITELY playing harder at both ends of the court. Once Hakeem found peace, it all came together. I just hope it's not too late. [IMG]

On a side note... Hakeem came into the league as a crappy free-throw shooter, then leveled off... MAYBE he ends his career as a crappy free-throw shooter??? [IMG]

Remember those COUGAR days??? Ahhhhh, man... the worst night of my life!!!

Really, I didn't know he started out as a bad free throw shooter. Guess you do learn something new everyday.

Well not like a Shaq, or anything, hehehe. I'm just reflecting back to the Phi Slamma Jamma days. NONE of those dudes could hit a fukkin' free throw, Akeem included. That's why Jimmy V, got to do his thing, ya know. [IMG]

It's just those 2 misses hurt the other night. I forgive him though. [IMG] Hakeem's still the bomb.
