The rolled eyes were indicative of my current interest. I like the team. I just haven't got any traction with them as far as my past support. I started supporting the Colt 45's, have always gone to games and used to watch every game I could on TV. I just didn't get going on them this season, started out just watching a couple games and reading the Chronicle They are certainly a story for most fans, but I am not paying attention I'm old and subject to lapses
I haven't seen or heard anything that makes me think any of the players dislike Cecil Cooper. Not one freudian slip, nothing. And judging by the atmosphere in the clubhouse lately, everyone is VERY, VERY excited. I like this team a lot. The old veterans could make a hell of a run here, guys that have a lot of experience in the league- I doubt we make a move for a #3 pitcher or Halladay. The 20 game winners we have- Hampton and Ortiz have been more than serviceable at times and Moehler has been pitching pretty well. This team is ready to go to battle for the Division Crown. Also, Coop might be helping quite a few guys with their hitting. After all, he did hit .352 with 25 homers and 122 RBI one year. Sean Berry never did that and neither has Dave Bergman .
terrible manager and one of the worst I've seen in creating batting orders. Batting Berkman 5th is a travesty. How the Astros are where they are with his bungling around is a mystery to me.
Who cares. Leadership has nothing to do with winning. He could beat his players with a bat for all I care, as long as he fills out the line card appropriately and manages the pitchers correctly.
