Mine is a mini basketball signed by Shaq & Hakeem. I think this is pretty good but I'm sure yall will blow me away. So what is your most valuable piece of sports memorabilia?
Mine are worst than that. I have 2 baseballs that are probably the most important. One is a regular MLB ball I got at a game, while the other is a gold painted ball with the Astros autographs. I think it was from the last season at the dome. The bad thing was some players signed more than once. BTW it was given out, I didn't get it and ask for autographs.
mine is probably not worth anything financially speaking...but it has sentimental value... its an autographed Warren Moon football card. why is it valuable to me personally? Well b/c he signed it after the Oilers' final playoff defeat (to the hands of Joe Montana and the KC Chiefs)... I had 50 yard line seats to that game and waited around for 2.5 hours with a friend and his mom to meet Warren Moon before the team up and moved to Tennessee... the look in his eyes was so awful... the man was brought to tears b/c of the Oilers loss in that game (also his final game as an Oiler, seeing how he was traded to Minn during the offseason)...
A baseball personally autographed by Mickey Mantle to me. I got it around 25 years ago. He banked where place my Aunt worked and she got him to sign a ball for me.
Mine are just okay. I have a Barry Sanders Rookie Card which is kinda valuable. I also have a bball signed by Steve Francis and Eddie Griffin (got hooke up by my friend that works for the Rocks ).
Oh ya I forgot another thing that isn't as valuable as that ball, but it is more valuable to me.... and who knows if he keeps up this pace it might become very valuable. It is a card autographed by Lance Berkman to me... he is my favorite Astro by the way.
I don't really have anything worth much . . . I used to have a binder FILLED with George Brett baseball cards, but not anymore -- it got stolen. I'm gonna show my suckage as far as sports items is concerned -- my best items are: A matted/framed block of Lou Gehrig stamps that my mom gave me when I was six or seven. He was my 2nd favorite baseball player. I still have it on my wall here. A collage of sports cards and sports stamps that I made one day. It actually is REALLY, REALLY awesome looking, but not worth anything really. It's got a giant Donruss 1985 George Brett card, a Jackie Robinson first day issue postcard/stamp, Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Scottie Pippen (yeah, I know), Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan and Craig Biggio cards, and a mint 6 cent "Football" stamp from the 60s (I think) and a mint "Baseball" stamp from 1980 or something like that . . . None of this stuff is likely worth anything (well, definitely not the collage), but I don't care -- I think it looks cool.
Shaq rookie card. Binder full of rookie cards - Weber, Hardaway, Cassell, etc. Autographed team championship ball from the first Comets championship (Swoopes, Cooper, Thompson, etc) Autographed team ball from the 97-98 season (Clyde, Hakeem, Charles, etc)
1. Autographed limited edition ABA basketball by the first and last MVPs of the league: Connie Hawkins and Julius Erving. 2. Hakeem Bobblehead from his last game with the Houston Rockets. 3. Sports Illustrated Issues after the Rockets won the championship. 4. Authentic Aggie Football Helmet 5. Astros and Rockets pennants from the 80's.
2nd championship signed and certified ball of Clyde and Hakeem. My best friend has 756 mint Hakeem cards. They're in a safety deposit box until Hakeem goes into the Hall of Fame.
I have a Lew Alcindor second year basketball card...or it might be his rookie. It is really my dad's, but it is in my care.
Baseball: Complete '85 Royals with George Brett and Bo Jackson Autographed. Ball autographed by Gary Carter. Basketball: Front page of Chronicle when Rockets won 2nd championship. Hakeem autographed one trophy and Clyde autographed the other.
A bunch of NBA rookie cards from the early-to-mid 90s, including Shaq and Penny. But, my most valuable item is an autographed Magic hat (2000 draft edition) with the signatures of Mike Miller and Andrew DeClercq on them - of course, the latter is worthless, but it does have some significance as the Magic's UF connection.
