I know some of you have iPhones and some of you don't.. so I wanted to make a thread to see what kind of ideas people have for a new iPhone.. Regardless of what you think Apple will do and allow.. just post what you wish could be on a new iPhone.. Btw, here is a picture from Gizmodo a little while back that someone posted of a Concept made by a user.. I know everyone wants the basics first and foremost.. the MMS, video camera with a better megapixel camera, and also copy & paste.. so you guys don't have to list those.
How about a battery that stays charged for more than 12 hours... in reality. Everyone I know with a iPhone complains about battery life.
That's true and it was true for me early on.. but I learned how to use it and handle it right.. People don't know how to charge their phones.. and one of the first things ppl were supposed to do in the beginning when they first got their iPhone was to use up the battery as it came and then when it was dead, you do a full charge. When you do that, Apple says that helps the Battery and the hours it stays on, etc.. Also.. people like to plug in their phones in chargers and then take them out a lot.. that really messes up your battery. Obviously that's not the only thing, but those are the two suggestions that helped my iPhone. I don't think I've ever had a problem with the battery.. the longest I've used my iPhone with a fully charged battery was 10 hours and then there was less than 10% left. I think that's pretty decent, but yeah I think it'd be better if it was held longer and if you could leave every feature on. I try to turn some of my features off from time to time to conserve battery, but most of the time, I have everything on (3G, Location, Bluetooth, Brightness, etc.).
I thought it was supposed to have the smart battery? Like a Sony Ericsson does? If they'd solve this issue, I might drop the dime to get one.
Verizon service. I hope the Verizon execs who turned down the initial iPhone deal are still kicking themselves.
The iPhone has a YouTube app to watch YouTube video, but can't play inline Flash videos in its browser.
It's Steve jobs.. he just doesn't want all these extra features and stuff on the iPhone.. it has nothing to do with money, they could add whatever they wanted to make it the ultimate smart phone.
My biggest wish? For people to take care of all their contract stuff with AT&T beforehand. I could care less about the actual unit, but iPhone sales are a paiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin. That said, I'm not going to comment about the phone itself. Apple kind of frowns on speculation by employees.
A plug protector for the headphone jack. My son spit up on my wife's iphone last night. It wasn't a lot so my wife just wiped it off. Unfortunately, the external speaker stopped working an hour after the incident. It turns out that the sensor in the headphone jack that determines if headphones are plugged in was stuck. So I took it to the Apple store and they said the warranty was void since the moisture indicator at the bottom of the jack turned red and it was going to cost about 200 bucks to fix. I was pissed and took the phone home and searched the internet. As it turns out this is a very common problem. So common that there are youtube videos about it. So I took a q-tip and cleaned it out as one of the videos stated and it was fixed. However, I now have a phone with no warranty. A flash player
1. better camera with image stabilizer, dont really care to have a front facing camera yet 2. MMS 3. copy/paste 4. better batt life..altho mine is good enough 5. gmail search 6. instead of a glossy, fingerprint, smudgy finish..just make it matte black (tho not really an issue with me.ive got a case) 7. flash would be good 8. turnbyturn gps 9. bluetooth that allows you to listen to all of your music and phone calls with the headset hopefully the new iphone OS will address some of these things
If by "/thread" you mean, that phone doesn't belong here, than I agree. What OS is the phone running anyways? Looks like its from 2001. Doesn't look like any of the major ones out. G1 and the iPhone and two heads and shoulders above everyone else. You could probably throw Blackberry right behind them.
Maybe something that lets you know you have a message without actually deactivating the screensaver... like Blackberry has on their phones. I'd have to add that onto my wish list, too.
