Bottom line, we are short on talents. Even the Kobe/Shaq lakers had that 3rd guy that can hit big shots, either it was D.Fish, Glen Rice or Robert Horry. Our combo duo isnt quite as good shaq and kobe, mainly becuase Yao isnt at Shaq's level yet. And look at our supporting cast, they are solid, but they arent enought to counter super powers like the Spurs, Pistons. As bad as the officiating was last night, Dallas had control of whole game. It was scramble on our part and of course the refs blew our chances. Just not ready this year. So either 1st round tough out or WC final out, makes no difference, we are a border line elite team at this point and probably 1 or 2 years away. But our future is certainly brighter than most of the NBA teams.
I always fully believe going into every regular season game and playoff game that the Rockets will win. I just can't believe it when they lose. I don't mean to say I predict them to be undefeated every year, but I never look at a game and say, "Oh, that's a loss." I predicted Rockets in 7; I think we'd beat the Suns and have a good shot at taking out San Antonio. It's too unpredictable to say what will happen, but I definitely sure as hell haven't written off the Rockets. I always believe!
I voted that we will lose to a different team. Dallas is a soft team. Once Yao and T-Mac turn on the pressure (think Super-Saiyan) I think we will blow them out of the water in the next two games. But I am not sure we can take San Antonio. Tim Duncan had a great game last night and it looks like the Spur's guards are playing clutch ball down the stretch.
Totally disagree with this statement, a true die-hard fan can realize that Dallas is playing better than we are and probably will win the series. I think the best fans are the ones who are realisitc and can give constructive criticism about how to improve the team, not just think we can beat everyone. Our defense has been lousy, we dont block out, we give up too many 2nd chance points and rarely get an offensive rebound. plus the refs are not being so nice
Yeah, well, it ain't over till it's over. And I think the best fans rally behind their team and show them that they still have a chance and that they believe in them. It's the playoffs, you can address all the constructive criticism you want in the offseason. Until then, you keep believing.
Of course we are all rallying behind our team! But the guy who started this post explicitly asked for our honest opinion. And my honest opinion is that San Antonio has a slight edge over us given their discipline and experience.
Honestly, do you think you can start a st*p*d thread like this? Your honest opinion... Freakin' bandwagoners, I swear...
With every game being as close as it has, even with bogus refs, how could you possibly think we don't have a chance?
The bandwagoners are the people in the chat room last night who started saying things like, "It's all over!" "We suck" "There goes the series" In the FREAKING THIRD QUARTER. You know who you are. I thought you guys would know by now that no game is out of reach with Yao/McGrady on our side.
Totally agree. My heart tells me the Rockets will still win this series but my brain is telling me that most likely our season will be over in the next 2 games. (I really really hope Iam wrong).
It's hard to believe when our backs are against the wall, and we've lost 3 strait, after having 2 really great games. These are tough times...
I think they can beat Dallas, but I have my doubts about them getting past Phoenix in the next round. This series has already been so mentally and physically draining for the players. And there's still 2 more games the Rockets would have to win.
if we lose we will lose in the western conference finals against the sonics. i have the feeling the sonics are gonna 0wn the spurs
