Okay it's 3;30 AM and I'm taking a hiatus from watching election returns. This questions looms for my esteemed friends in the ClutchCity BBS Hangout: who are your favorite opinionados on the election shows. I like: Julian Epstein, Pat Caddell, Peggy Noonan, James Carville, Tucker Carlson
Peggy is Ok. Just you have to mention Chris Mathews of hard ball! I mean, every other network carries the stupid Gray Davis victory speech, only this guy has the guts not only ridicule him but also totally cut off his audio.
Political pundits revolt me. Even the liberal ones. It's not just that they're biased... they're dishonest and biased.
Ann Coulter. Oh wait, you didn't say favorite political pundits you like to punch in their skinny ****in' faces. My bad.
I also liked the late Barbara Olsen-- killed in the 9/11 attacks. Did anybody see the end of one of the late Crossfire segments when Carville put the trashcan over his head and left it there until they went off camera. Nobody said a word about it...
Yeah, that's right. Turd Ferguson. It's a funny name. Alex Trebek: [ Reynolds buzzes in ] Burt Reynolds. Burt Reynolds: That's not my name. Alex Trebek: Okay. Turd Ferguson. Burt Reynolds: [ laughs ] Yeah, what do ya want? Alex Trebek: You buzzed in! Burt Reynolds: No I didn't. Alex Trebek: Yes you did! Burt Reynolds: Yeah, well, that's your opinion. Alex Trebek: I hate my job. The answer was "mustard". Mustard is made from mustard seeds. Mr. Reynolds, it's still your board. Brilliant.
That SNL skit made me laugh so hard, it was almost as funny as the "I need more cow bell" skit that Christopher Walken did.
You can find it at www.drudgereport.com. I thought Pat Cadell was awesome in his time. Although Carter's malaise thing was his fault. Bad call there, brother. Otherwise he was really impressive, going back to his start as a young kid polling for McGovern. Jack Germond was great too. Is he dead? Used to be on The McLaughlin Group. You know the one. Bald, fat, voice of reason. He was the only one that could get everyone to shut up. I got drunk with him at Kennealy's once.
