You should ALWAYS go to www.dealcatcher.com before you go shopping. The best deals are made better with coupons. www.buy.com has a "deal of the day" that you should check out every day. Most of the times, the deals of the day are pretty good, but sometimes, they are outstanding. Last week, they had a $1,799.00 Ricoh color laser printer for $799. With a $100 rebate and a $30 coupon from dealcatcher--along with free shipping--you would get a 16 ppm color laser for under 7 bills. THAT's a good deal. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Son of a biscuit, I'd have been ALL OVER THAT! How the heck did I miss that? It was at buy.com, not at the dealcather.com site, right? ------------------ I got nothin'. [This message has been edited by Dr of Dunk (edited October 17, 2000).]
Yup, www.buy.com -- though I saw it listed at www.dealcathcer.com. A few days earlier, they had a a really nice workgroup laser (12 ppm--can't remember brand, though I can't remember the brand) for under $300. Every day since, the first thing I look at is www.buy.com in the morning. I forgot to tell you: the best place I've found in a while is www.mercata.com. They have some great prices on a lot of different things, but their prices are exceptional if you use their "mercata dollars." Essentially, it's a hundred dollars worth of 20% off coupons. I definitely suggest you check them out. Please do me a favor, though. Use this link: http://www.mercata.com/cgi-bin/mercata/mercata/v2/pages/home.jsp?uid=249F9896FF490238AC378D7302A8A5E3&ste_id=mercata&bnr_id=registration If you use the above link, you will get the $100 in mercata money, but they will also give my mom's account $20 more in mercata dollars. Thanks in advance. BTW, we've done some great Christmas shopping at Mercata. ------------------ stop posting my damn signature

Clutch recently revived an old thread about shopping on the Internet. I've been buying stuff off the Internet since '94 and have been running away with bargains right and left over retail shopping. Most of the stuff I buy online relate to books, electronics, and computers. I'm always on the lookout for interesting sites that help cut down on expenses. How about everybody throw out some of their favorite shopping sites (not just your favorite sites, etc). I'll start off : Computer Hardware/Software/Electronics www.pricewatch.com - one of my top 5 sites www.shopper.com - another great price search engine I use along with pricewatch. Pricewatch.com and Shopper.com usually lead me to one of several different vendors I use to purchase items. Some are mom&pop stores, and others are big online etailers. I like to make use of search engines like these two to lead me to different vendors everytime I make a purchase. I don't stick to one vendor because of this. www.buy.com - I buy so much from these guys, they should send me a "Thank You" card. They undersell others on computer hardware so often, it's incredible. I recently even bought a couple of books from them when I noticed their prices on books are sometimes lower than Amazon.com or Fatbrain.com. Books www.amazon.com www.fatbrain.com - for technical books www.buy.com Auctions I'm not much into "consumer-to-consumer" auctions and don't buy refurbished stuff. www.ubid.com - they auction new merchandise; I've bought everything from computer parts to an exercise bike from here. Be warned though, several people bid the prices above and beyond what you can find using a good search engine. I guess they just don't know how to search or are people working for the people that are trying to auction the items off in the first place. www.bid.com - last year bought a brand new Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop for $1600 from them. The lowest price I could find on the Internet for the exact same configuration at the time was about $3500. Hot Damn! Other sites I don't really use many of these sites, so I can't vouch for them, but I thought you guys may be able to find some use from them : www.dvdpricesearch.com - search engine you can use to search for cheap dvd's. Not sure how good it really is. The last time I tried going there, I got a message saying that their server was overloaded. LOL! www.mydvdsource.com - a used dvd site. www.800.com - they have 50 dvd's priced under $10. If I can think of any others, I'll just add them to the thread. ------------------ I got nothin'.
