Thanks to Real Audio, I got the chance to tune into Rockets games. And I´ve become a huge Gene Peterson fan! Like probably most of the guys here. Now, tell me, what´s your favorite Gene Peterson memory? ------------------ What do you expect from someone who beats up his fiancee?
When he called the David Robinson winning shot that was after the buzzer, "bullsh!t". That shot cost us a meeting with the Suns in 1993, and maybe the Bulls. ------------------ Is it any coincidence that we are the only team mentioned in the national anthem? I didn't think so!
Gene is great at play by play...maybe the best in the business, but he sure does yell incoherently when he gets really excited. ------------------ If the Rockets had dreafted right...and made the right trades they could have had Jordan, Hakeem, and Drexler on the same team...the whole time...REALLY!! Then I woke up to reality.

Too many to choose from. I do love it when Gene starts yelling about a call/non-call. Perhaps my fav. would be..... Buck Johnson down the lane dipsy doodles it up.....YESSSSSSSSS and he was fouled ! Real audio has been a blessing. I ordered the NBA Audio package for the season 19.95$ and it has every game on. Well worth it to hear Gene when I want or have time. He is a horrible homer, but I don't give a damn because it is the Houston Rockets Radio network. With Gene every opposing player travels and fouls. So Jovi, did you go to the Atlanta game for the ceremony. They showed the top 5. (Not the Bullsh_t though.) The Sampson shot to beat the Lakers and go to the Finals, Gene just absolutely loses his mind. He's screaching and screaming like a teenage girl coming out of a restroom to find Leonardo DiCaprio, Ricky Martin, and Madonna standing there.
Rocketman95 stole my pick. The screams of "BS" will forever be Gene to me. I nearly drove off the road when I heard that thinking, "Did he really just say that on live radio?" Anyone listen to all the buzzerbeaters we had in the 94 season when almost everygame came down to the wire? How about the Miami game that year? That was the only game not on TV as I remember it, Maxwell hits that weird baseline fadeaway. How about the two Cleveland games that year or how about that San Antonio game where Maxwell had like 7-8pts in the last 10 seconds? Atlanta game? The other San Antonio game where Maxwell takes an almost half-court shot with like 3 seconds left and everyone is like NOOOOOOO...errr YESSSSSSSS. I know you guys were listening to the triple overtime Dallas game we lost that year, what had to be the wackiest game ever where we hit 3 treys in the last 10 seconds to force the first overtime, and Jason Kidd was in the zone.
