Ahhhh the good old days of eating 100% sugar-fied cereals to your hearts content.... Sometimes I still get them, but I feel myself getting fatter each day if I do endulge. My mom really made me eat the good stuff (rasin bran, chex, wheaties, etc), but occasionally we would get a sugary cereal.

    My top 5:

    1. Trix
    2. Golden Grahms
    3. Rice Crispies (they didnt have sugar, but I always put a ton on)
    4. Super Golden Crisps - aka Sugar Crisps
    5. Apple Jacks

I hated cereal when I was a kid and didn't eat it. My Dad used to try to force feed me Wheaties, and I rebelled.

As I hit my 40s, and had to begin watching cholesterol and all that other crap, I got into cereal as a way to eat without blowing out the cholesterol meter. In wintertime, it's Irish Oatmeal. In summertime, it's Kelloggs Fat Free Granola and Kelloggs Just Right.

    also...
    Count Chocula
    Boo Berry
Super Sugar Crisp (its original name)

There was a quiet movement to remove the word 'Sugar' from cereal names

    Super Sugar Crisp
    Sugar Smacks
    Sugar Pops

    ahh, another cereal thread...

Fruity Pebbles is the all time undisputed king of breakfast cereals.

...and I'm probably the only kid in the entire history of mankind that actually enjoyed Grape Nuts.

I've been meaning to start this topic, too, but this seems like a good enough thread. How about your all time coolest cereal toys? My favorite has to be my light sabre spoon I got last month out of the Corn Pops...

Actually, I liked grape nuts as a kid. But mom never bought it because it cost more money (and was in a smaller box).

Best toy from cereal boxes: probably the diving submarine bathtub toy (baking powder not included). Don't remember what cereal it was in.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Frosted Flakes yet. That stuff was like sugar with a touch of cereal.

    French Toast Crunch
    Apple Jacks
    Smacks

    Least Favorite Cereal:

Kellog's frosted flakes- Some people like to eat concentrated sugar flakes, but not me. The sugar-milk made me sick. One time I saw a box on sale for 99 cents. I ended up throwing it out because of how bad it was.

I used to eat that horrible Ninja Turtles cereal out of loyalty.

There was a Super Mario Bros/Zelda cereal for a couple of years that I liked.

Fruit Loops, Cookie Crisps, Trix in my youth. I always wanted to try Boo Berry but could never find it at the store.

    WAFFLE CRIPS in adolescence. Mmmmmm.

You would not have liked the short-lived "Kellogs Crunchy Loggs" .. little logs of 100% sugar. They dissolved in your mouth like cotton candy.

I got to try them once, and when I ended up hyper, mom said 'never again'
