Rush <- not so much today... i still think they're good, but I don't necessarily fall for the "better than 99% of any other band today" argument anymore
Van Halen <- obviously they've done a lot to taint their image, much like the Star Wars franchise... but I still like them
Counting Crows <- more poppy than they used to be, but I still like them
Marillion <- haven't really put out anything relevant in a long time, so not much has changed
Stone Temple Pilots <- still like the first two albums, but mostly historical for me

That's creepy. That's my list minus Jimi, Beastie Boys, and Bob Marley.

I'll add the Impossibles, Bickley, Guttermouth, and Jurassic 5. Also various other punk as well.

Was in high school from Fall of '87 to Spring of '91

Believe it or not, there were really no set favorites for me in high school!

I was more of a pop music fan so I liked pretty much all the songs that were #1 hits on the Billboard pop charts and I was also heavy into R&B like Johnny Gill, New Edition, Bobby Brown, Bell Biv DeVoe, Keith Sweat, etc. Also liked Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Hall & Oates, and Billy Joel.

I didn't love Nivana, but Smells Like Teen Spirit was absolutely the anthem for that generation.
