I thought this thread would help you to evaluate your eating habits if you want to be more healthier. I eat breakfast, always. I eat eggs, egg whites or oatmeal. I used to eat cereal but it wouldn't keep me full. A typical breakfast for me would be two whole eggs w/ a mini whole wheat and water. Sometimes, I'd do a whole egg and one egg white. Other days, I'd eat 1/2 cup of oatmeal and water. I used to eat a light fat small yogurt for a mid morning snack but I've noticed i haven't had a mid-morning snack lately. Lunches always depends on what I cook the night before. I bring lunches most days but I'd go out to eat with my co-workers once or two times a week. That's when I eat kinda fatty foods! Gotta work on that. I'd eat a handful of almonds for a mid-afternoon snack. I'd drink a whey protein shake if I'm hungry. I rarely raid the vending machine. When I do, I get a Snickers. Most times, dinners would be mostly chicken, salmon and sometimes meat with vegetables. I try not to have lots of starches & carbs. I'm a huge sucker for cookies. I just can't resist them! It doesn't help that my dude loves them too. I eat them wherever I see them. I'm not too crazy about other sweets, just cookies. I'm also a sucker for salsa and chips at the Mexican restaurants! When I eat bread, I buy whole wheat instead of white. I buy whole wheat tortillas, bread and mini bagels. On the weekends, I eat two times a day if I sleep in. I eat kinda bad on Friday nights and Saturday nights. I eat pappas with eggs on the weekend. I cook dinner on Sundays. I rarely drink sodas or any juices. Water has been my drink. I try to drink 48 oz of water everyday but I don't drink that much water on the weekends. I don't know why I've gained 5 pounds in last 6 months if I eat fairly healthy. Maybe I haven't done cardio too much. So what are your eating habits?
I eat mostly red meat, potatoes, cheerios, oatmeal, .5 gallon of skim milk a day or so, used to go with protein powder but the good stuff that disolves quickly costs to much, chicken with rice or udon, orange juice. I lift weights so even though I eat tons of food I don't get fat. Being a man is awesome.
Because you are on clutchfans, you average 3.49 posts/day and with time consuming posts like this it keeps you from excercising, also as much as you excercise you have to double for every cookie and triple for every extra patty on youor burger. If you really want to see results run/jog at least 2 miles, don't walk. Well I guess I am getting side tracked, but I would say a bad eating habit is those damn kolaches they bring in to work in the mornings, I work with older people who are married and pretty much settled with their life, hot wife, good job, good pay, awesome careers, great personality, etc. Thats about it
I don't watch ANYTHING I eat and I despise "Light" foods. The entire restaurant with eggs? You meant papas/potatoes... right? Disappointing... tsk tsk tsk... I'd kill for a PAPPA's potato right now.
7:30am - 2 cups of cheerios, 1 cup of 2% milk 10:00am - 2 packets of instant grits 12:30pm - sandwhich (wheat, fat free cheese, turkey, low-fat mayo), apple 3:00pm - sandwhich (same) 5:30pm - grilled chicken, 2 ears of corn (half sized) 8:00pm - 2 pieces of baked fish, cup of green beans as my works outs and weight loss progress, i start to add calories, but that's where i'm at now
I have no fixed eating habits. I rarely eat breakfast. Perhaps once a week on average. I eat lunch probably 4-5 times a week. I almost always eat dinner, or something between 5-8 p.m. I think this is why I get away with eating whatever I want.
Your observation is kind of wrong, dude. I would love to exercise right now but I'm here for 8 hours from Monday to Friday...that's called work. I know I have to exercise more a cookie but I just love cookies. I try only eat one or two a week. Yeah, sue my spelling!!! That is lot of food...wow.
Breakfast = coffee and cigarettes Rest of the day, whatever food I come across, I eat. Nothing planned.
This is what I had so far today..... water oatmeal cup of coffee water almonds/grapefruit/smoothie green tea Salad with chicken...tomatoes and bacon bits water tuna.........with lemon water I'm sure I'll have a glass or two of wine later.
Breakfast – Myoplex shake Lunch – Usually a South Beach Diet type sandwich that my wife buys for me Snack – Bag of cashews Dinner – Whatever I grill or she cooks. We try to keep it healthy. Weekends, we usually make some whole-wheat pancakes with sugar-free syrup for breakfast, then go out to lunch/dinner at about 4 or so. That’s when I usually pork out.
I've never seen a man use 6 packets of sugar in his coffee and live to tell about it. as for myself... For the last 3 years it's been basically the same menu protein shake - breakfast fruit or egg whites - mid morning snack fruit & tuna - lunch protein shake - post workout chicken, tuna or turkey & rice & vegetables - Dinner Casein protein shake before bed I do allow for the 1 weekly cheat meal. Makes a double meat double cheeseburger taste even better. Eating basically the same food over and over doesn't bother me at all. I should probably mention it was my wife's idea to start working out 3 years ago...NOT MINE! This lifestyle just fits perfectly with my personality.
make sure you don't starve yourself. you may lose weight in the short term, but your brain releases a hormone that tells your body to store more fat. it's a survive mechanism.
Breakfast - Cereal with 1% Milk Lunch - Usually 1-2 Sandwiches or Wraps Supper - Pasta or Rice with sauce and meat or fake meat with vegetables on the side.
Always try to eat 5-6 meals a day between 3-4 hours apart because it keeps your metabolism high. So next time don't skip that mid morning snack. For Breakfast your good. Maybe you can add veggies or Fruit to your oatmeal For Lunch, it doesnt hurt you if you eat out once or twice a week as long as you keep the rest of the week healthy. Make it your cheat meal for the week. Just dont eat too much though The area where you need to work on is weekends. Overall, you eat healthier than most people. I would add some cardio.
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice....much appreciated! Keep going, guys. Some of you may say you don't care what you eat but you will pay for it when you're older with a heart disease or whatever. My uncle who is 40 just had a heart attack last month because he didn't take care of his cholesterol. He wasn't that fat either.
