With current roster, who is in your dream Rockets starting lineup?

    PG- Steve Francis
    SG- Jimmy Jackson
    SF- Pike
    PF- Kelvin Cato
    C- Yao MIng

I think that lineup provides a good balance of role-players, stars, good outside shooting and secondary scorers

So you got Cat, Amaechi, Moochie, Boki, Adrian and Eddie Griffin coming off the bench.

    Where's Mo Taylor?

I don't know how we managed, but we seem to have overstocked our SG/SF positions. I'm not really sure how the minutes are going to be worked out right now. Maybe we'll just have a constant wave of injuries like we do now that'll keep the decision easy.

in a dream lineup, boki would be starting in place of rike.
pike is a great outside shooter, and should be the first guy off the bench alongside mobley, but he is too damn 1 dimentional.

boki on the otherhand can an outside shot and more to the table as long as he continues to develop. hopefully last night wasn't an anomoly

Yeah, I can't stand that rike. He needs to go back where he came from. J/k, I think he'll help improve us tremendously.

Playing a team with a weak SF:
    Francis
    Pike
    Jackson
    Cato
    Ming

Playing a team with a strong SF:
    Francis
    Jackson
    Griffin
    Cato
    Ming

I want Cat to get Bobby Jackson minutes off the bench (28-30). I would also want him to average more minutes than Pike and Jackson, I just think having him come off the bench would be a tremendous asset, and will lessen the redundancy of always having Cat and Steve playing at the same time.

    J Jackson
    Nachbar
    Cato
    Yao

I think that's how we should start.

    Mobley
    Jackson
    Griffin
    Cato
    Yao

That would be our best defensive team and still provide plenty of scoring. Cat or Jackson brings the ball and dumps it in to Yao who runs the offense either from the LLB or the high post.

Steve is first off the bench if we need instant offense (one of his 2 main weaknesses, playmaking, is miotigated by relying on him only for his scoring, the other, defense, is mitigated by playing against 2nd unit guys.)

Taylor backs up the 4 and Amechi the 5. Boki and Pike split time at the 3 and Mooch picks up garbage minutes at the 1.

All of this assumes we could not trade Steve for an Elton Brand level PF.

1999 Grant Hill over 1987 Larry Bird?

You've already got tons of firepower with MJ. Bird would give you better passing, rebounding, and a more reliable outside shot. (Which would be necessary, since '88 Jordan didn't yet have the guaranteed J and Magic has never been an automatic outside shooter).
