    PG: Fisher(30)/Lue(27)/Gaines(23)/Wilks(25)
    SG: T-Mac(25)/Barry(32)
    SF: JJ(34)/Boki(24)/Piatkowski(34)
    PF: Taylor(28)/Howard(31)/Weatherspoon(34)
    C: Yao(24)/???

This is not a lineup of my wish, it's a lineup with real possibilities. Looks like we might get both Barry (S&T with TE) and Fisher(MLE)

Now, we have floor generals, vet leadership, young guns, a top two scorer in the league, a top two center in the league, slashers, rebounders, bruisers, three point specialists, good coaches, Americans, Asian, Euros. We don't have a great individual defender, but we have JVG.

This is a great lineup, don't you thinK? :D

    Now, what's yours?

Nice lineup DeAleck, both realistic and functional. However, I see J Howard starting. I do not see us getting Brent Barry because of the other offers he has recieved.

    Here is mine:

    PG: Fisher, Lue
    SG: McGrady, ?, Pike
    SF: JJ, Boki
    PF: Howard, Taylor
    C: Yao, Skinner

I wouldnt want both Fisher and Barry.

Take one of them and add Skinner as well.

it would make no sense to blow all our money on 2 pgs and have nothing for a back-up center.

Barry and Skinner would make this the perfect offseason.

    Let's start with keepers :

    Yao
    Tmac
    JJ

    Pretty good :

    J.Howard

    Potential :

    Boki
    Gaines

Worth coming back from last year :

    Padgett

Would love to get rid of, but can't :

    Taylor
    Spoon
    Pike
    AG
    Lue
    Wilks

that's 13 guys. Plus we have the offseason acquisitions :

Trade exception guy (TE) : looks like Brent Barry

Mid level cap guy (MCE) : looks like ?
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
thats 15 guys . Any other - the second 1.7 mil mce, or minimum salary guys - only come in if we make room.

We need to cut Wilks. We need to dump Pike, AG and Lue for picks or something. It's be great to get rid of Taylor or Spoon, anyway, anyhow.

    What we got :

    starting C - Yao
    starting PF - Howard
    starting 3 - JJ
    starting 2 -Tmac
starting 1 - barry with Te

    backup 4 - Taylor?
    backup 3 - Boki?
    backup 2 - Barry/JJ
    backup 1 - Lue

Needs : backup C for Yao - skinner seems right guy/price at 1.7.
    backup power forward
    backup point guard.

Worst problem : Point guard or Power forward? I'd say Point, on talent/age, making Arroyo very attractive. Taylor's contract is a huge problem though, and should get a lot of attention. We need that money for Yao in two years, not three.

lol ok time for a new one since i haven't done one since the big trade. Feasible (and desirable) lineup:

    Starters:

    PG - Brent Barry/Tyronne Lue/Mike Wilks

    SG - Tracy McGrady/Eric Piatkowski/Reece Gaines

    SF - Jim Jackson/Bostjan Nachbar/Scott Padgett

    PF - Juan Howard/Maurice Taylor/Clarence Weatherspoon

    C - Yao Ming/Mark Blount/Malick Badiane

Just looking at the rotation I can tell you we have too many backup point guards, not really good backup shooting guards, overpaid but undersized powerforwards, and well, we just need a good backup C.

WIth this lineup, we have a tall team except for the Power Forward spot. Many already know how badly i stress the PF spot, but i guess i'll just have to accept it. It's way too hard to try and do anything with their contracts, so we'll just leave it at that. Yao's backup is Mark Blount, and according to stats, he's a pretty solid shotblocker and rebounder for the minutes given to him. 7 Footer is a plus. I really would like Badiane to be signed even though he may not be ready, hes a long center that could help us. I'm would be pretty happy with that team above.

so recap for me is sign Brent Barry and Mark Blount. and badiane

    c-yao/Etan Thomas or Skinner
    pf-howard/taylor/spoon
    sf-jj/boki/padgett/griffin
    sg-tmac/gaines/pike
    pg-Barry/Lue/wilks

I think signing Barry would be the best idea, granted he doesn't play defense very well but that is were our Coach Mr. Defense Van Gundy comes in, Barry loves to pass and can shoot the 3 very well. we need shooters to go with tmac and yao because they well double team yao and mcgrady alot and we need guys who can hit the open shots. and i think thomas or skinner are the best options at back-up center.

that is 15 players if you have only 1 back-up center, what is the NBA roster 13 or 15? i forgot.

I agree getting a point guard is our biggest priority now but I also believe getting a banger to play with yao and mcgrady is also extremely esential. Trade mo Tay and one or two players for a banger in the middle or a point guard and then use the money we have on something we didn't get in that trade. With Juwan Howard and Mo Tay, I don't see someone to help bang up some players to help Yao out.
