I loved the book, but this trailer... Spoiler it pretty much gives the entire storyline away. I mean from start to finish, I can't even think what there is left to surprise the audience with. Also wish they kept the black and white throughout the film, and only turn it to colour when things are from Jonas's point of view. Really hope this film turns out well, it's one of my favourite books as a teen.
Yeah, I feel like I know the whole story now, thanks movie company. And LOL casting the Big Lebowski as The Giver. "The dude abides... and gives, man... he gives too, you know, kind of, when he can, man."
I'm sure the book is good, but I hope it gives credit to the author having watched Logan's run every summer when he/she was growing up.
The Hunger Games, Divergent, this? Do all young adult book adaptations have to take place in some dystopian future?
It is a common theme in books. Edit: I'm interested to see how they do the ending, and if they plan on doing sequels (The Giver has sequels, but they didn't achieve the same fame, perhaps due to being indirect sequels and written much later).
There is a third clip out now, with the Giver standing with another character on the edge of the forbidden area. Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/_4ezPvzKe5M?list=PL016B7B1B7B05670F" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
