The Bobcats. By their recent string of moves, I'm excited for them. I think they will surprise everyone soon and will soon be in the spotlight. I don't know if I want them to make the playoffs though... because they won't get any draft picks if they do. Right now, all that needs to happen to them is: get a great player in the upcoming draft, probably trade felton, get rid of morrison, dj augustin to look like a star, and for wallace and okafor to emerge. I love what Diaw is doing, and hopefully he can keep it up. I also just noticed their logo changed which kinda looks like the Bulls logo... wonder if Jordan had something to do with that. Their future is bright.
after that knicks fiasco i really doubted larry brown, but looks like i was wrong. His team is doing great offensively and defensively. They might just attract enough fans to hire play by play guys again.
Larry Brown has got them to play consistent defense, which is great for them. Their offense needs work.
Larry Brown will flake out after a couple of years. He always does (except that knicks fiasco where he flaked out after a couple of months). He always lead his team to impressive performance the first year, maybe the second. Then he starts to lose his welcome because he is a prick.
The Bobcats owner and fans are made for each other. The owner is cheap and Charlotte is still skeptical about the NBA. That team will always be mediocre or worse. They might make the playoffs in a one-time fluke in the next 2-3 years but that's it.
not sure about that. NC is basketball country. i seem to remember that Hornets drew well at the beginning years, until that owner (George Shin) started to act weird.
It's crazy that NY and Charlotte are 7 games under .500 and two games out of the playoffs in the East... I adopted the Clippers last season as an alternate to rooting for the Lakers, but that hasn't really panned out too well. I've been pulling for the Knicks to get their act together for years now. They are a bit erratic, but fun to watch...
I think Larry Brown has zero loyalties but I also think he is guy that just loves challenges. You look at his resume and he almost always leaves teams after he pushes them to their peak. The New York thing is an outlier but I think that's partially due to Isiah's meddling that kept him from putting his whole system in there.
the knicks have one of the top attendance % #s in the league, thats why I have such mad respect for their fans. even when the team was horrendous, they routinely sold out the MSG...
the bobcats will ge good when adam morrison lives up to his larry bird comparison....in case you were wondering thats not anytime soon
Boy did Diaw and Bell choke down the stretch. 5 missed FTs in a row before Diaw made one. Kobe was also incredible. The dude gets better with age. Going to OT. Bobcats had it in the bag but those missed FTs killed them.
A total and complete choke job by Bell and Diaw, going 1/6 from the FT in the final minute. Shameful. The Lakers will now dispose of them in OT.
