Alright, my wife and I are wigging out. Her ex-boss was one of the indicted people with the "Candyman" child p*rnography ring. He is the one that they have not arrested, because he has supposedly fled to Mexico. His picture is on click2Houston.com with a link to FBI.gov. It is very likely that he will be featured on America's Most Wanted.

Here is the thing. When people say things like "it is the last person you would ever expect", you can't really understand that until you experience it. This was the nicest guy you could meet. I actually only met him a couple times but I only got very positive vibes about him. He and his wife were at my 28th birthday party and were very comfortable around our circle of friends. My wife loved to work for him because he was a very considerate boss.

I can never trust my instincts exclusively when it comes to people again. I used to pride myself on being able to read others, but now I know that I am full of sh-t. I am so angry at this creep for what he did to his family, not to mention supporting an underground industry that exploits and abuses children. I am relieved we were not closer, because it could have been truly devastating to my family as well.

    anyway, just venting

The roommate of one of my best friends from high school was arrested back in 1995, I think it was, for "befriending" a 12-yr old kid over the Internet and flying to Oregon to.... "meet" him.

He had always been really proud of his volunteer work with troubled youth. I thought that was admirable, until I read about this and realized that he probably wasn't involved with them for altruistic reasons.

He was a jerk, so I wouldn't necessarily say "He was the nicest person" or anything like that, but it was still quite a shocker.
