    The much maligned Brian Boddicker.

    Man, he came to play today. He was money from long distance and played a fabulous game with Thomas in foul trouble. I hope he continues this against Oregon.

    Elite 8 here we come!

    Not only was he hitting 3's but he hit a few at the beginning of MSU's run that kept the lead around 10 or 12 when it could have shrunk much earlier. However, I was ready to kill him when he threw that pass that resulted in a breakaway 2 and a foul on the other end. But since everyone on the team seemed to enjoy doing that I guess I can't be too mad and he did hit all those 3 and had that sweet pass underneath to erskin so all in all a very positive game from boddicker. and damn we needed every last bit of it.

    James Thomas deserves the most credit, IMO. That guy is such a workhorse. Plus he's an AC/DC fan!

    Royal Ivey was CLUTCH. So was Erskin. It was a team victory really.

    I agree Freak, wothout Thomas, Texas maybe would have lost to BC or to Southern Miss. His rebounding is awesome.

    I agree with this completely. The guy's game has improved soo much, although you can't say the same about his hair. And he just flows in with the team game so well. I have no doubt they would be better with Owens in the lineup, but had he never got hurt, who knows if the rest of the players would have come together like this.

    This year's exit from the Tournament may be real bitter for Longhorn fans. They finally get to the Sweet 16, they're playing a higher seed wh o performed really well in a major conference, yet isnt a perennial power team, so the hopes are high. I think the game will be close. Texas' guard defense is underrated.

    A good college player who fits well with Ford. He's the guy Ford needs to go to more during droughts.

    According to Bohls, Erskin doesn't yet have a scholarship guarantee for next year.

    I don't know how true it is, but it's possible. If we're maxed on scholarships, and we only lose Freddie Williams (if Chris Owens is allowed back), two incoming recruits (using Freddie's and Erskin's current one-year scholarship) would kill any possibility of a scholarship next year. :(

    What's the word in Austin? I'm sure they'll petition for a 6th year, but I just can't see that happening.

    No real word yet. They've apparently already petitioned for it, but I don't know anything more. When I first heard it, it sounded like it was a 50/50 thing. Apparently, it may have happened before. Things he has going for him:

    * He really wants to come back as well as graduate. With the NCAA complaining about losing so many basketball players early, this seems like a plus.

    * Texas has been very good in terms of NCAA violations in the recent past compared to other large schools. Doubt it will make much difference, but it can't hurt.

    * He got hurt before any conference games, so a half-season is a logical possibility.

    * He hasn't used a normal red-shirt year

    Things against him:

    * The NCAA is not very flexible (with good reason, I think).

    * He's already had a sit-out year after transferring from Tulane (?)

    * He was a preseason player-of-the-year candidate. Don't know if this will make a difference, but the "name" aspect may help or hurt. More opponents might be pissed as opposed to if a no-name player was allowed to come back.

    I wish we knew when to expect word, but I would assume it would be in April, since players have to declare for the draft in May.

    I agree the whole team stepped up, but I was mentioning Brian because he gets ragged on so much by UT fans and for the most part he was clutch versus MSU.
