I know they lost Artest earlier this season, but I really think they have it in them to go all the way to the Finals...and WIN! They've been playing great as of late, and I think the team will rally around Reggie for his last season.

    IT'S MILLER TIME! :D

Yea if they beat Detroit, they have a good chance against the Heat. I believe they were 3-1 (?) against the Heat this year.

I'm a big Pacer fan and even if they get by Detroit, Miami will beat them. I'm proud of them for overcoming this tragedy of an NBA and getting to this point. If they finish off the Pistons this round, a movie should be made.

I like how everyone always just assumes they know what you've heard from whom in the recent past. :)

You're proud of them for overcoming problems mostly of their own creation?

They had a nice run but they have Detroit's full attention now. No way they get past them. I say Detriot in 6 (maybe 7).

If you mean we heard it in this topic first, then you're wrong. Look at the "pick n roll" topic, I picked the Pacers to not just get to the finals, but win them. ;)

I think the Pacers will get past Detroit, but will lose to the Heat in 5 games.

Now that the Pistons are awake, this thing is over in 6.:(

But they will face a rested Heat next Sunday in Miami. Hopefully Shaq is fully recovered.

What tragedy of an NBA? The one that forced them to go into the stands and attack people? The one that makes Ron Artest do stupid things year after year?

There are underdogs and teams that come out of nowhere you'd like to pull for - Indiana doesn't qualify as being that type of team. I know Carlisle wants everyone else and themselves to think they are, but that's part of the psychology of the "us against the world" mentality they need to win right now.

You don't think the Pacers came out of nowhere? They were left for dead. This team lost their 3 best players for much of the year and somehow made a strong push near the end of the season when they should have run out of gas. Who was predicting they would make it to the playoffs, much less win their first round series and be tied 2-2 with the defending champions? Well, I guess you were the one who saw this coming. I think for most of us, what the Pacers have done can be considered coming out of nowhere.

Artest's behavior at the brawl cannot be defended. [Neither can Jackson's]. But without Mr. Volcano, this team's accomplishments are something to be proud of. Old Man Reggie was supposed to be a backup this year, but he has had some of his best games and most exciting moments ever. Sorry, but I didn't think he still had it in him. Say what you want about Carlisle [and I don't like him that much personally] but he has gotten a lot out of this team. He won't get coach of the year but he should be a candidate.

Even if they lose the next 2 to Detroit, this team, excluding Artest, will go down among the most noble 2nd round casualties ever (if there is such a thing). Their success will be an inspiring footnote on the tragedy. I hope Artest never puts on a Pacers jersey again!

If the Pacers make it past the Pistons, what will they do when they face the Heat.

They have no chance against the Heat.

    None.

if the pacers make it to the finals it will be the most ridiculous thing i've ever seen in sports. it would be the most sustained overachieving i've ever seen and also an unbelievably sad statement as to the state of the eastern conference.

however, even though i like them and hate the pistons, i think they're done and the pistons take it in 6.
