You gotta be tough to live in Houston.

Wimpy people can't survive here, because wimps can't survive stifling heat and humidity 4 months out of the year, mosquitoes as big as dogs, and Mattress Mac commercials.

Likewise, you gotta be tough to be a Houston sports fan.

Wimpy people can't survive games like last night or games like the NLCS game 5. When the opposition wins a playoff game on a walkoff homer against your closer, or when the opposition wins a 14 inning World Series marathon, wimpy people slink out the side door.

We do not do that around here.

We support our Astros, as we support our Rockets (and, gasp, Texans) win or lose. We reserve our right to speak our mind, but in the end we support our teams.

This way, when our teams do win a championship, the celebration tastes that much sweeter.
