My buddy just rolled out his offering to the open source community. A simple and easy way to prevent spam: www.spamgourmet.com this is a mail server that deletes email, except what you want through!! This is not address filtering; this is "Disposable Email" accounts, as my buddy calls it. This is great for doing registration at websites when you don't want to give up your email address. here's how it works: 1. go to spamgourmet.com and register a name and give a forwarding address (you never have to go back after this). syntax: < name >@spamgourmet.com example: eatme@spamgourmet.com 2. Next time you need a disposable email address for registering at some other site, just prefix a random word and a counter, like this: syntax: < word >.< counter >.< name >@spamgourmet.com example: giveittome.3.eatme@spamgourmet.com the counter specifies how many emails to let through to your forwarding address. We suggest 3 anytime the website you are at is going to send you back confirmation and a password. Once 3 emails come through, the rest that have to "giveittome" will be deleted and NEVER spam you. Next time you need a disposal email account, you need to specify a new random word. this is great!! and very easy to use. Some people are using it to register with 100s of advertising sites to get bonuses and awards. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited December 11, 2000).]
