Just checking out the stats in here, being as the deadline to register to vote is rapidly approaching. Remember, either way you pull the lever come November 2... use your right that our troops have fought to protect over the years... Don't forget if you have recently moved or turn 18 before E-day... register! VOTE! http://www.fec.gov/votregis/vr.htm This link allows you to register from anywhere in the US.
I registered years ago, but I have a stupid question. Does the one time registration cover you for all local / national elections forever?
If you have since moved, you will need to re-register. Go to http://www.harrisvotes.org/ for election info and the Harris County Tax Office here - http://www.tax.co.harris.tx.us/voter/voter.asp - to see if you are registered to vote.
Registered as of July 19th, but didn't get the voter's card until about August 6th. Took a bit to get, but registered to vote and plan on doing so in this years elections. Local elections we will have to see.
Even if you don't get your card, you CAN use your drivers license at polling places. I NEVER take my registration card (I'm not even sure where it is) and it isn't a big deal.
If you are voting for Kerry then you should be fine with your current registration. Just kidding, I have no idea. Sorry to bother you...
are you saying you can vote at ANY polling place? i always thought you had to vote at your local designated place to vote. usually at the elementary or church or place like that.
I'm trying to change my address and it keeps asking me for a street number suffix. What the hell is a street number suffix?
This reminds me.. I need to see how to get an absentee ballot.. since I go to college in Tenneesee.. but obviously will vote as a texan
The following defines the address elements for each of these address types. MAILING - CIVIC ADDRESS Note: The online form will automatically provide each address element except those that must be entered by the user; these are indicated with the following symbol ( *). This form of address consists of: Street Number * The official civic number that has been assigned to an address by the municipality. Street Number Suffix * This is used if a letter or fraction follows civic number (e.g. 140A or 91 1/2 KING ST). The only permissible fractions are 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4. http://www.addresschange.gov.on.ca/applet/onlineservices/english/iac/help/addresselement.htm
You should vote in Tennessee because Tennessee is a swing state. Unless hell freezes over, Bush will win Texas.
aggie... I'm a texas resident and want to keep it that way.. I was told something about registering to vote in a different state could screw up your citizenship status..
During early vote, there are locations set up throughout the city where you can cast your vote. During that period, you can go to any of the locations (there are usually under a dozen). On election day, you have to check the paper for your designated polling place and go there. You determine the polling place by getting the precinct number from your voter registration and matching it to the location they will list in the paper on election day. Many of them have been the same for years. I should note that I'm only talking about Houston here, but, generally, the rules apply in much the same way in most big cities.
Can someone tell me if I will be able to vote even though I'm on Felony deferred probation? Because I would definitely like to. Thanks
