Yinka Dare dies at the age of 32, according to the ESPN crawl, from a heart attack.

Actually tried to show a little reverence there and it blew up in my face.

When did they get rid of the 'Edit' function?

    Damn AP stylebook.

    Kelly,

I wouldnt worry about it. As horrible as it sounds, I let out a small chuckle. Couldnt help it.

For some of the younger folks, who didnt know Yinka, his lone claim to fame during his career was the fact that it took him 2 or 3 seasons to get his first career assist. His passing (of the ball) become the butt of many Sports Center jokes before he finally broke through and got one.

I remember that many were many comparisons of Yinka to a young Hakeem coming out of college.

Yinka Dare, God-rest-his-soul, was probably the worst first round pick ever in the history of the draft. He amounted to absolutely nothing and was a huge contributing factor in the Nets continued cursed existence, which has only recently been broken.

I let out a small chuckle at the thread title.

I remember I used to like him because I got a Topps Foil (it might have been a rookie) card. I remember looking at the back and it having 0 assists by his name. I still liked him.

    Too young.:(
