uh-oh here comes trouble , This guy has played a lot of games but has never had an assist as is my understanding I dont have a link but i saw it in the Paper ------------------ This signature space for rent call 555 ...
See, the good thing about Dare is that if the shot clock is running down, you can always kick the ball to him and know it won't be held looking for a pass. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
Actually, Dare has all of 1 career assists. If he could play another five hundred years, John Stockton might have to start worrying. ------------------
I'm not a big Shaq fan, but he had 299 last year. I'd take Pig over Dare - he had 16 assists last season (.5/game). ------------------ GATER
Yeah Shaq had more assists per game than iverson ------------------ This signature space for rent call 555 ...
Yeah but just like Cato, Yinka has potential. Maybe we should give him 6 mil/year too! ------------------

Swopa, Please, please tell me the Warrior fans aren't hoping for anything from Stinka this year. The column you've got linked shows that they realize that Stinka was the biggest draft bust since Harold Miner. If the team is bad enough for Dare to actually make the roster, you've got more trouble than I thought. Chris Mullin could play better in the pivot for the GSW. ------------------
My fault for not being clear -- in talking about Ray, I meant to say that he was hired to work with all of the Warriors centers, with Erick Dampier as his main project. If Dare plays OK enough to be the 12th man, that's gravy -- and yes, it would be a surprise to everyone. Then again, starting a 6'8" center last year was a major reason why we were 19-63, so I can see why it would be nice to have an extra 7-footer available. And it's not like Dare has to be anything special to be better than Tim Young (who was the 3rd center last season). (By the way, Mullin famously DID play center when GS upset Utah in the playoffs one year, guarding Mark Eaton. As you've probably figured out, that's back when Nellie was coaching.) ------------------ [This message has been edited by Swopa (edited October 06, 2000).]
Just a little update for anyone who cares: <a href="http://www.oaklandtribune.com/S-ASP-Bin/ReformatSQLIndex.ASP?puid=503&spuid=503&Indx=471633&Article=ON&id=26764283&ro=13">Dare: "I think I'm a lot better than people realize"</a> Incidentally, something I didn't know until yesterday -- Clifford Ray, the new GSW assistant coach who brought Dare into training camp, was the guy who worked with ORL's John Amaechi on his game last year. Hope he can pull off similar results here . . . ------------------
Yinka update!! I have now seen the legendary creature with my own eyes, at the GS public scrimmage last night. And . . . OK, there's really not much to report. He ran up and down the floor, and made no discernible plays on either end; he was just there. I'd still give him a 25-30% chance of making the roster (or the IR), if only because he does have a true center's body and is reasonably athletic. Someone behind me aptly described him as "a young Felton Spencer" -- and the old one is still in the league, so why not Dare? ------------------
Another Yinka update!! Dare was waived today by the Warriors. But let the record show that in Friday night's preseason game against the Blazers in San Jose, Yinka hit a jump shot from the right side of the free throw line! I can only give thanks that I was alive to see it. ------------------
