Let's say Milwaulkee doesn't make any noise in the playoffs this year and Karl gets serious about breaking up the team. The Rockets end up with a pick where the best players available appear to be pfs(Gooden, Wilcox, Stoudamire). Would you trade the rocks 1st round pick + Rice(cap filler to make trade work with a contract that only lasts a couple more years) for Glenn Robinson or Tim Thomas?
Yes, and actually I would prefer Tim Thomas I think. Much like Jermaine O'Neal when he came to Indiana, I think Thomas needs to start and could really excel. He just needs the chance. And at 6'10", with a solid perimeter game, Thomas could average 20 a night. He's a pretty good rebounder as well. When Casell and Allen were out last week against Dallas, Thomas started at shooting guard. He's really versatile. Bring it......
not for Robinson-his style and age don't fit with this team. I'd also ask for their pick, if we don't get the Raptors'-it's in the 20s, Karl hates draft picks, and we could use it for depth at center
Yeah, I'd agree with you on the age thing Nike - Thomas would make more sense in that aspect. Just not so sure he's worth that bloated contract. Robinson probly has 4 more years of prime game left in him, which would certainly help the Rocks more than a young backup pf. And I think, other than his post-up game, his style would fit well with the Rocks. He can handle the ball and shoot it, what more could we want? (okay okay, maybe some D) The Rocks probly would need the Bucks pick to fill the glaring need at backup center. Just not so positive that Karl would be so sold on a rook that would be available at our pick to give up on either of those 2. If we do end up keeping our pick, I hope the Rocks pick the best player available, even if it is a pf.
