Yet another Jalen Green thread, this time with a poll.

Voted don't know/unsure. Jalen's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get.

 

I don’t know/am unsure. I don’t think he’s a superstar on the rise, nor do I think he is a bust. I think he will play in the NBA for a long time. I don’t know whether he will top out as a sixth man/bench scorer or a fringe all star. I am unsure about whether the Rockets should extend him or trade him. I would trade him as the rookie extensions for young “scorers” with all-star upside has been ridiculous (Simons, Hunter, LaVine, Toronto PG, etc.). Rockets lack a true bell cow type perimeter scorer. A lot of people hope that is Jalen. I would give him 20 games into next season and then, assuming his jump shot still has the same ugly form , cut bait.

 

Regardless, your thread-making knowledge exceeds your basketball knowledge.

 

Jalen only had a positive Net Rating in 31 of the 82 games he played last season. So, that means he had a positive impact in only 37.8% of the games.

For a #2 pick that has been a starter for 3 season, I expect more.

The frustrating thing is that we won 26 of those 31 games that he had a positive Net Rating. So, we win 83.9% of the time when he occasionally plays well.

Has he been a bust so far? In my opinion, absolutely. Can he turn it around? I seriously doubt it, but I hope he does. We're a top 3 seed if he can get his s**t together.

 

Unsure. Willing to give him another season, hoping he finally starts fulfilling his potential.

I often see Jalen Green supporters argue that he will be the next Zach Lavine... idk if those same people realize that Zach Lavine on a max contract is a huge negative on your team and detrimental to winning a title. If he really is the next Zach Lavine, we need to trade him when his value is high.

 

Polls like this need to be public and no ability to change.

I'll choose this option.

○ His floor in his prime will be a really good starter on a winning team. His ceiling... a perennial All Star. Will his game mature enough this year for us to see it come to fruition in Houston? We will see. This year is huge starting game 1.
