Yet another draft trade idea

I think this might be a good trade idea:

Houston trades #1 and Glen Rice to Golden State
Houston trades Mo Taylor to Denver

Golden State trades #3 to Houston
Golden State trades Jamison to Denver

    Denver trades Mcdyess to Houston

This helps us because we solidify two positions instead of just one. I think having an allstar PG and PF with a good SG and a future star at SF (Buttler). With the 15 we can pick the best available big man (Haslip, Ely, Stoudamire). We also dump Rice's big contract and Taylor's ridiculous contract.

Golden State could either take Ming or Jay Williams, they get a veteren and a 3pt shooter in Rice.

Denver is the only problem I see. They would want Jamison, but I don't think they would want Taylor when they still have Howard. But Howard's contract is up in a year and Taylor and Jamison cost less against the cap than Mcdyess. They get to start their rebuiding with Jamison, Taylor, and I imagine they will draft Wagner at 5.

    What do you guys think?

Please understand you aren't in the Rockets front office so what you say isn't definate. This is just fans talking, you sound like you believe you're on the Rockets payroll. Besides, what makes you so 100% sure Yao will stay here for many years? Why couldn't something happen like with Wang in Dallas where Ming has to go back to China? Why wouldn't Yao split for whatever team the Chinese govt. wants him to play for? Even though my idea won't happen, it vastly improves this team more than Ming would. Ming is going to be a 10 ppg and 8 rpg guy. My proposal gives us an allstar PF, and Butler who is on his way to becoming a steal for which ever team picks him after the 2nd pick. It also eleminates 2 bad contracts which helps us plan for the near future. By the way, what does NYC have to do with my proposal? They aren't mentioned anywhere in my original post. Are you some crazy conspiracy theorist type? Please UNDERSTAND THAT YOU NEED SOME HELP IF YOU ARE.

I don't think getting McDyess is a good idea because of his knee injury,if he were fit I would say go for it.

J.M.D. may not have said it in the most friendly way, but I think he's right. Barring some kind of freak situation, the Rockets will draft Ming. I mean, they had the mayor of Houston meeting with reps from the China Basketball league and Shanghai Sharks about him.

Besides, who could they really get in a trade to offset the potential of a #1 pick? They're not going to get any of the following players:
    Kevin Garnett
    Shaq
    Kobe
    Nowitzki
    Duncan
    Webber

That is the entire list of guys that would be capable of making the Rockets into instant contenders. And, NONE of them are going to be available in a trade for the #1 pick, so I think everyone should just stop fantasizing about Lamar Odom and Antonio McDyess being the answer to our problems. This pick is going to be made so let's just get ready.

I don't know about anyone else, but I like the trade. I like Mo Taylor a lot, but getting McD would be sweet.

Can anyone fill me up on the reason the Rockets passed over McDyess during his last free agent sweepstakes?

I remember how he said that Houston was one of his big teams on the list and later he said Rudy and CD didn't want him and resigned with the nugs....

i think it was because charles was already our 4 and at the time it seemed pippen would be the final piece to another championship run.

Imagine Matt Maloney lobbing to McDyess for a monster slam. The folks courtside gets a free souvenir everytime. :D

Charles never liked the idea playing small forward eh? It probably wouldn't have worked, but a team like that would be fun to pick apart...

Charles played small forward for much of his career in Philadelphia. He was one of the best athletes to ever play in the NBA. The problem is that he was the PF whiile the Glyde was here for a couple years, and that worked out well, so they wanted a player similar to Drexler to come in. Management thought Quitten would be that player. I thought Quitten was a jerk and an a-hole. It turns out I was right.

What if at #5 Butler was still there, would we consider trading the #1 and EG for McDyess and Butler? There are so many possibilities if we're not sold on Ming in which we could draft Williams and hold him for ransom. I wouldn't mind having McDyess and Butler as our off season moves. Cat wanted toughness, how much tougher does it get than those 2? Of course we would have to check out McDyess prior to the deal, which would mean prior to the draft. I'm not sure if that's possible (I guess if Denver agreed).

    Cato
    McDyess
    Butler
    Cat
    Franchise

The D would be upgraded immensely along with rebounding, toughness, and desire. McDyess plays his butt off and Butler really impressed me in the tourney (and is apparently still impressing people). Of course that trade would pend on McDyess being checked out by the physicians.

While we're at it we might be able to deal Cat and the #15 to Cleveland for Miller.

    Cato
    McDyess
    Butler
    Franchise
    Miller

Three new starters and a guy moves positions, talk about changes. We'd probably need a really good distributor like Miller if we're gonna get 2 guys like McDyess and Butler who would want the ball a lot. I don't mind Franchise at PG, but Cat has no ability to distribute as a SG which is where we're being set back. Miller is a team guy and wants to get others open shots and he's probably better at the point than Franchise. Francis would be pissed for awhile, but after we started racking up wins I'm sure he wouldnt' mind as much.

The Rocket's didn't pass on McDyess. McDyess chose Denver over us. We were in his top 3, and only after he narrowed his choices to Denver and Phoenix, did we sign Pippen.
