okay, so i was walkin up from the ocean to my Dad's place through a path with blackberry's on each side...they have thorns and everything and i was gettin a few pricks here and there...when i got back to the house, i kept feelin somethin pricking my left side of my stomach, i thought it was a thorn or somethin so i just left it there, sorta brushing my clothes to get rid of the pricking feeling. A minute later i felt it again, so i did the same thing...and minute later again. So i took off my jacket and pulled up my shirt to see what was pricking me...and there was some sort of bee just sittin there on my bare skin (i don't know how, i was wearing a fairly long jacket, pants, t-shirt and everything...so of course i swatted it off and then killed it...but damn, it left 5 sting marks...one main one and 4 little ones. It's been itchy for the last 5 hours or so (since this happened). I can't believe that there was even bees out there so late in the year. Just thought i'd tell ya that story.

Anybody else have some sort of bee story???

I've only been stung by a bee once in my entire life, but the thing wasn't even alive. I was like 15 or something and I killed some bee flying around my head. Then I decided to pick it up and throw it off of the basketball court, and I shoved it's stinger in myself!

It must have been a hornet. I know bees die after the first time they sting you - the stinger pulls right out of them. Hornets can sting you repeatedly; I'm not sure about yellow jackets though.
