My friend told me about this National Poker Pub Poker Leauge and I was able to check it out. I'm new to Poker ( Just started 6 months ago ) and wanted to play a competitive game without the financial obligations ( Trying to save up for a house )...

    Well anyways to subject.

The NPPL ( National Pub Poker Leauge ) is nightly event at 2 or more locations around houston every single day. They have a point scale system of which you actually obtain the points if you place 1-8th. The best part about this event is that its

FREE and I mean free you dont have to pay anything. You dont have to pay for registeration or pay to play or pay to enter the event. I was able to attend my 1st NPPL tourney at Sasones on Westheimer which had a decent turnout of 24 people and I placed 8th.

I just wanted to let you guys know ( especially the new poker players like me ) that if you wanted to play in a tourney which cost you zip. then NNPLPoker.com is the way to go.

On NPPLPoker.com they have a section where it states where the event is located. This isnt just a houston only program its nation wide.

Let me know what you guys think. Oh and by the way the calendar said its on Jillians on wednesday and Saturday but they dont hold it anymore.

Yea, that's what Live runs, NPP. There's also APL.

    But again...free poker blows.

do the points eventually amount to something? what are other incentives to play for besides points? tell me it all leads to something. otherwise, what's the point?

The points lead to being allowed to play in regional tournaments. Which the last one was held here at Live. THe Winner of the Regional Tournaments gets to go against 5 other regional winners. The winner of that gets a seat at the WSOP.

The do regional tournaments for prizes as well.

I played in that tourney. I finished on one of the final three tables. That was a lot of fun.

i find that interesting. if you are good at poker, it shouldn't be a financial obligation, but rather a financial aid.

i need to pay my truck insurance in two weeks...so what did i do last week more than ever? played poker - so far up $650. time to pick up the pace though.
