I remember that game, it was the second game in the 96-97 season at home vs the bulls. that was the same picture that was on the cover of the chronicle's sports page the next day. I remember how everyone said,now we know we can beat them. And then we lost to the **** in the conf. final!! I think you all remember Barkley was out of that game and rodman was out for them. ------------------

Both Chicago games were played January that year, as is typically the case. Barkley had a monster game in Chicago, but we still lost that one. Email played some great D on MJ, but he still went off big time. One of the interesting matchups of their era was the Jordan-Drexler contest. They consistently played about evenly over their careers when matched up, over about 25 games. Too bad we never got to see that final that year. Instead Pew-tah went. ------------------
