I don't think there is a chance Yao would get 6 fouls in 5 mins because Rudy would replace him immediately when he gets 3 fouls just like last night's game.
I believe he was thinking too much during the play last night. So he didn't really show what he could do and got a little frustrated.
I'm telling you, Yao Ming and Steve Francis brought some weird @ss fans, and even weirder trolls with them when they came to Houston. This isn't pointed at you YaoTheMan, just an observation.
I don't know where you got this idea from. I am a die-hard Yao fan from China. Maybe 6 fouls/5 min is exaggerated, but didn't I say a doulbe-double is possible too? oldies bashing newbies, same everywhere, on Chinese BBS too.
I didn't mean that post to be pointed at you, it's just something I was thinking about and it happened that I posted in this thread. I actually agree with you, I think Ming will be ready to go tonight, and either he's going to be to hyped and get into serious foul trouble, or relax and have a big game.
I'm predicting he will have double digit points this game and a much higher shooting percentage. At first I was kinda worried when I thought he was up against Mutombo tonight then I remembered they have Todd MaCullough now. Yao should be able to get up some much easier shots than he was against Robinson.
sure. Actually, during the summer I received the forwarded email that Erik sent out looking for a translator for Yao. And I was thinking about applying for it. Then words came that the candidate must be a native English speaker. So ...
Actually, the schedule is laying out pretty well for Yao Ming. 1st game - Against one of the league's top defensive teams matched up against one of the best low-post defenders (Robinson) in the league. 'This is where we want you to be one day...' 2nd game - Nothing personal against McCollough, but he's no Robinson. Yao should be more effective tonight, he's gotten the jitters out of his system, took a tough test on the first day of class, and now knows how much studying he needs to do to make an A. '...and this is a good point to start from. You should have a bit more success this time.'
Ming's emotional? I'm waiting for him to throw it down on somebody and get fired up! Hopefully it's on Shaq.
Thanks for pointing that out Juugie. My Mom is Chinese, and nothing makes her more angry than when people don't realize that 'Chinaman' is very offensive. I think it will take our sports world a little while to learn the Chinese culture because we haven't been exposed to it yet. I have wondered how long it would be until I heard a reporter or TV anchor use that word. Luckily, I haven't heard it yet.
