I think this deserves it's own thread... Welcome to the NBA Yao Ming! Yao received his first technical foul Friday night (01/10/03) versus the Hawks! After having Theo Ratliff hanging all over him all night long, missing shots and playing mediocre, Yao got a chance to dunk all over Theo and did so with authority! He let out a yell and flexed his arms then got T'd up... way to go Yao!! Welcome to the NBA!!
I don't understand why the refs wistled a Technical. He just screamed. If they made calls like that, the likes of Kenyon Martin and Stoudemire should and would be rejected every game. Good play by Yao though.
anyone know excactly what time it happened? like late 4rd or early 4th or what? cus i want to catch it on the rerun right now
Mark my words. Watch Yao for lots of more dunks from this game on. I can clearly see the fire and anger within him. Yao was playing soft earlier on. But the post play before the T was clearly delightful to watch. He BULLIED his way to the basket like Shaq and throw down a two-handed JAM!
He was frustrated tonight. He missed a lot of, well in Shaq's words, "chippies". He was also sloppy, many times he just stood there. Hope he can recover from tonight's frustration.
his bad shooting may have been a product of lack of rest since he went to nyc to make a commercial for visa. a lot of his bad shots are mostly a result of him laying it up too soft. when he's that close to the basket, he should just slam it.
Yeah, he was sloppy. Probably Rudy.T diplomatically told him about that during the half time, if you read his comments on that T.
This is a great thing for Yao and the Rockets! Its great to see Yao finally release his emotions. He's been bottling it up and that ain't healthy in the long run. He will need to be more physical when he faces Shaq.
Hopefully this will be the beginning of the new meaner Yao. The last thing Yao wants his opponents to think him as soft.
Does anyone know it there's a picture or video file available of the play plus the T!?!?! That would be great to see, sicne I couldn't catch the game.
