Link Tanslation: Never thought we'd have started the game like that. I guess we just took it for granted. We lost to them on the road so we were eager to get it back, tried to do everything in one step. Everybody saw the result, it was almost a disaster. The positive part was our morale, it was a difficult game but nobody backed down. From technique point of view, Utah's passing skill is better than us, they always found the open shots. Inparticular, that little guard played like a floor general and handled their offensive opputinities very well. We won the game because of our determination, or aggressiveness if you like that term. I already knew from last game that AK47 was prepared to block my shots behind their center, but I still did the same thing. Later I started to pass out and that was a lot better. On the boards, I went against Pstertag one on one but still let him got 6 offensive boards, so I felt somewhat frustrated. I also had 6 turnovers. That shouldn't happen. My goal is to limit my turnovers to less than 2 a game.
Morale. It seems like Ming will keep going with that while the Jazz has the actual tools the Rockets need (passing and an actual point guard). It's kind of sad that Ming says AK47 was already proned to stuff his shots so he had to wimp out and pass instead of going in strong. When is he going to be a man?
If he gets doubled he should pass. Do you think he should try to score on Ostertag and Kirelinko? Even Duncan would pass.
But you would think being a 7'6 center would take it in and cause the foul? Maybe it was a good idea to pass in those situations, but he really needs to show some toughness and some fiery attitude in him on that court.
I believe Yao said AK47 double-teamed him from the weakside and blocked his shots after Yao got through Ostertag. Therefore it is better for him to pass out.
Well, Shaq passed out of double team lots of times. Anyway, Yao is slower than Shaq for sure. By the way, what Yao needs to learn is how to bump the defender before making the move. He has to initiate contacts first. Hopefully he can learn in the 2nd half of the season.
he did that to Osterizer last night and O did his best Karl Malone / Stockton flop only to not get the foul and Yao got 2...
Well, you have to add "be careful of offense foul" as well, last night the last FG make by Yao in regulation was close to an offense foul. Initiating contacts is an art. You have to bump defender to make space for yourself while that move should be inexplicit to Refs. Not so easy. Best at this? Malone and Shaq.
NOT! That Ostertag flop was pathetic and even the dog toting refs opened their eyes to that... The best was Walt Frazier...
