Yao's body is not built for basketball

If the Rockets are serious about Yao, they have to devise a plan to get his body through a season and the playoffs. 310 pounds + 7'6 + previous injuries isn't going to get Yao anywhere. He'll just heal up, and get injured the next season again.

Limit his minutes? Limit his games? Trade him?

We got lucky this year it didn't happen before the playoffs started.

    Oh well. FML.

I say rebuild, sad thing is that its not the first time, this happens every year. We need to rebuild this year was the year too. Sucks this has to happen. We just cant rely on 2 injury prone Stars to carry to the championship...

I seriously doubt Yao is 310, if Glen Davis is 285-290, Yao has to be close to 350.

    I feel sorry for Yao.

Look at Bynum, Oden, Stadmire! How many games they missed since they entered NBA. This is just common big man problem. No surprise!

THE REASON WHY YAO GETS INJURED SO MUCH

I feel for the man, he's a true warrior. He's willing to put the team on his shoulders, injured or not. You know what? The guy gets used improperly, and this team isn't built properly despite what many of you think.

    1) Adelman's handling of Yao's minutes.

    2) ****ty offense with no ball movement. This causes Yao to run around and fight for position like a dog. This puts a lot of wear and tear on his body. The ball stops too much and when you watch the Rockets offense, there is no flow. How many times have you seen Yao get position only to be ignored by that short little ****er Aaron Brooks, or the rockets inability to get him the ball. As a result, hes getting WWE'd in the post.

    3) NBA officiating of big men is terrible

    4) DM's lack of initiative to get a solid backup for Yao.

now that Yao is out, the team will realize how much they miss him.

Hard to trade your franchise player, he gets all the media attention and makes the money for the franchise. I can't see Yao ending his career in another place other than Houston.

Too much playing time, he lives basketball 12 months of the Year.

He should be limited to 33 minutes in the seaison

Play him like Duncan, rest him against scrubs at home

limit back to back games, play percentages against teams which have bad records and take chances.

With respect to the Rockets organization, is re-signing Yao in 2010 still a no-brainer?

No, I bet no one wants him playing 15 minutes straight to start a game. Im not talking about total minutes, I'm talking about handling his rests and playing time.

No more than 30. He had, I think a 3 game stretch where he played plus 40 minutes in the playoffs. I may be wrong, but it seems like that is what I remember one of our broadcasters say. That can't happen.

His minutes should be limited to protect him from getting injured.

They actually cut his practice time significantly. That was the emphasis and made sense. Him getting injured is inevitable.

It's hard to sit a guy who loves basketball so much. Just as JVG said, the dude is a hard worker. The Rockets organization did a great job keeping Yao healthy for the whole season, however the playoffs are more important. If we can limit his minutes during the season we could have him healthy during the playoffs.

Where are the clowns that always want to blame Keith Jones or Tom Clanton for the fact that Yao and McGrady aren't durable?

I guess Aaron Brooks is gonna get his dream come true. Get to shoot 20 times a game and try to be "the man". He did state that it was not good to give the ball to yao too much, a while back.
