yes, that was a really bad performance, but whats the reason behind it...
it made me wonder because look at Yao's numbers before he got injured last yr, dont think it was that much better than today's and couple days later we found out he was out for the season...
    but hopefully hes just tired

Everyone has bad nights now and again. Yao, Artest, Tracy, Garnett, Pierce, Allen, etc. etc...

The sky is falling every game we lose, don't ya know? :D

Tonight was a mental thing. When he missed that dunk, that was it. He was schooling Perkins before he got in foul trouble.

Couple the fact that he was playing timid to avoid fouling and the missed dunk, you lose confidence. Knowing Yao's work ethic, he will bounce back. In fact, look for Yao to dominate the next game

The reason we lost cause Ray Allen was on fire. TMac couldn't guard Ray Allen cause we all know TMac's defense is as soft as a baby's butt.

    TRADE TMac!

Celtics has Tom on thier coaching staff. He knows Yao as well as anybody..and probably knows the tricks to defending Yao...thats my only explanation

also Artest is 3-16...worse numbers than Yao no one hating artest?

TMac's defense on some possessions was solid, others, not so much. Oh wait...yeah he's got a bum knee and was carrying our team too. I don't think Allen was stopping Tracy so much.

    TRADE NADman!

Ray is a great player, someone needs to step up every night against a strong opponent right?

The reason we lost today is because of Yao. But we'll get back on track again in no time.

    He WAS awful tonight.

If it's because he IS tired, that's uh ... uh ... not a good thing.

It's November 4th. Only 8 months to go.

Artest played defense. He didn't let scrubs like Eddie House score layups on him or grabbed rebounds over Perkins and Big Baby.

Did you watch the game dude?

He played as a rookie when he stood on the court. It seemed that he was totally confuseed and lacked of confidence. I don't know why the coach put him on the court all the second half.

The key reason is that Yao played a terrible game. If your star player was outrebound, outscored, and did nothing except turnovers, you lost a close game. Tracy scored more than he usually does and played an at least average game, how could you not see that? ***?

Hopefully he won't get dominated by Oden the next game. Oh wait, luckily he is out with injury.

I am really really disappointed by Yao tonight. It's ok if you have an off night but you can't play like a pu**y and get outplayed by Glen Davis.

After a while Yao just lost confidence in himself and started doing worse. It happens but Yao should start being more aggressive, don't let stuff like this get into his head. A star like him shouldn't even be thinking that.

the rockets are trying to use him like he's TD or something similar, which he's not. The guy is more Ilgauskas and that's the type of game he needs to play. He's never going to jump high so he's always going to put some shots where they can be blocked. What needs to be done is give him some more face up jumpers instead of so much work in the post. This is more than reasonable because the guy CAN shoot. A lot of people say, "well if he's 7'6 why let him shoot jumpers, put him near the rim", which makes sense for a guy like Shawn bradley or Muresan, but Yao can shoot lights out from 18 feet in and i'm pretty sure he would shoot 3's at almost 40% (not that he should take a lot of those, but proves he can shoot). Yao's gonna make 50-60% of his close to the rim, but he gets pushed a lot there. He'll make AT LEAST the same percentage of jumpers because he's not being pushed and he's more unblockable shooting a J than he is inside because of the way the D is positioned.

Let him shoot more jumpers, you'll get the same result (20+ points and 50% shooting or better), but he'll take less pounding, will be blocked less, will pick up less offensive fouls, won't be discuraged so easily when facing a quick andbig center, and he'll have more variety to his offense. the only downside is he won't be in position to get offensive rebounds, but i think our forwards and guards rebound well enough that it won't be a big problem. Plus, with Yao shooting, there won't be many rebounds.

i love how adelman kept Yao in the game even though he was utterly useless tonight. as a franchise player, yao needs to go through bad times like this and work through it to establish himself as the franchise of the rockets. He needs to kno hes no role player, the coach will not sit him down just because he cant perform on a particular night. he needs to perform no matter what.

Artest didn't shoot well but he played defense and muscled his way to the hoop and got rebounds. Yao was just intimidated and looked confused. He can't score, rebound and play D like he used to. The ONLY good play is that he dived on the floor and get the loose ball. He deserved all the fans' bashing. Ron and Rafer played badly but Yao is the reason we lost. Anyone failed to see this needs to check his homer googles.

Yao's bad performance was bad. I honestly never seen him play this bad. He seemed a little overzealous in the first half, but played quite well except for the foul trouble.
He absolutely sucked in the second half. Getting stuffed, forgetting how to dunk, couldn't get a rebound to save his life, and the ball kept slipping out of his hands.
