memo to Eddie Griffin: Did you see how that jumper curved as it went through the air? That's called "arc". You should try it some day...

I dont understand why yao took the shot until now. There was 6 seconds left on the shot clock. Rice was wide-open. The game was not considered out of hand at that time as rockets called a time out to set up the play. And I remember yao did mention that he did not want to take any 3 pointer. Anyone can enlighten me?

p.s. It's funny in the clip that rice, our best 3 point shooter, was raising his arms even the ball was half way to the hoop. He knew it was a good shot. :D

Well, it's kind of the same way whenever it's a blowout and Hakeem calls for the ball at the 3-point line. It's just icing on the cake a.k.a. '94 Finals against NYK. :D

It looked like a set play:

    1. Francis drove all the way to the hoop, drawing three defenders.

    2. Yao, one of our best offensive rebounders parked beyond the 3-point line, didn't even try to go toward the basket.

    3. Francis, who normally would have gone for a difficult layup, flipped a no-look pass all the way out, knowing exactly where Yao was.

    4. Yao caught the ball, set his feet and shot without hesitation.

Looks like they planned it from the start.

Yao said he was open when the ball got to him so he had to shoot it. As simple as that.

See.....Larry Smith is good at making plays.

    Beautiful!

    This is a great memory!

Hopefully there will be more 3's in the future by Yao....and hopefully he can continue to shoot 100% from beyond the arc!

Yao's 3 pt shot look REALLY good. It looks like he's been practicing or he always can shoot the 3s with ease.

Expect Yao to shoot some more 3 pt before the season is over. That's no fluke, HE CAN SHOOT.

Nice touch, nice mechanic, nice follow through, way to go Yao.
This is exactly how a 3 pt shot should be launch.

I love Posey's reaction. He jumped onto the court and just started twirling his towel. Mobley is the only one who doesn't look excited about the trey. Actually, if you look closely, you can see that his face is green and contorted with jealously. I'm just kidding. I love Cat.
