The Rockets are 19-4 when Yao has 3 or more blocks.

Yao got hot for a minute, but that roll in pass that allowed the Blazers to get the ball, was perhaps the most boneheaded play tonight. But I think he's a rookie, and those kinds of things will happen. To me the biggest problem tonight seemed to be on the defensive end. We've got to keep after the ball, even if Cato gets a block or there is a deflection.

You know what my biggest problem is? It's the darn TOs man... I hardly rant... and I love Yao, but he's gotta stop turning the ball over so darn often!! Man, nowadays I'm a pretty happy camper when he gets 2 TOs or less.

He's learning all the wrong things from Francis...

Oh shucks... shouldn't have said that... hahaha... probably pissed off about 80% of the bbs with that one statement... :D

Yao and Francis fans, you know I'm kidding dun ya? ;) I love Yao and Francis...just about as much as I love poking at y'all... :D

Just another problem with our defense!

What ever happened to Eddie Griffin's blocks? Wasn't he a demon last year with blocks? Why isn't he getting them this year? Why is Yao so inconsistant with his blocks? Yao should be getting 2-3 blocks a game, standard. Eddie should be getting at least 1-2 blocks a game, standard! Heck last night at one stretch Cato had 3 blocks in 5 minutes of play! Why? He brough defensive INTENSITY!

It is a function of this teams overall defensive intensity as a whole. This team needs to play at a MUCH higher level on the defensive side of the ball, and when they do they get more blocked shots.

Where is the sense of urgency?

    No sh*t...

There's no passion, no emotional and no leadership...

That's right, someone has to lead by example and I'm sorry to say, Franchise isn't doing it...

It's not all his fault that where in this funk, but he's not helping the situation...

I agree, they seemed very flat footed the last two games and did not seem to show the same heart.

When Yao gets blocks, it means that the guards are finally playing defense and forcing opponents to take tough shots. Unfortunately, against Portland they were left WIDE OPEN on the 3 point line where Yao isn't gonna block anybody's shot.

The coaching staff on this team is below average. It lacks both quality and quantity.

I don't think Yao's turn overs are too big a problem, as his turnovers are usually violations, it doesn't lead to other team's fast break points. SF's turnovers are actually more harmful, because there is nobody behind the guard if he lose the ball.
