Basically he said that it was a mis-understanding between him and some reporters here. He told them he planned to go back after surgery, but maybe because of his poor english, they misunderstood that Yao is going to stay here. Bad news! :( :(

There's a difference between him going back to China and him going back to play for the CNT. Which is it?

Per the article, he hopes that he don't have to play too many tournaments. My take is that he will be OK to play the playoff games.

Why go home to one's home, culture, friends, life? Why indeed.

    Yes please translate!

    Here's my crappy translation:

I think Yao said the Chinese government will tell him the training and game schedules and he will follow those schedules when he gets them.

Yao also said he whole heartedly wants to play for his country. The only thing he wants less of are the traveling exhibition games. Yao said he hates the constant traveling in the NBA and that he feels tired just looking at an airplane.

Or maybe he said Dampier is a punk, I don't know, my chinese sucks.

    Ok.

"I will go back to China. Now I just need a surgery." When everyone started saying that Yao Ming may be training in America for this summer, he tells us: I will go back to my country.

"Actually it's quite funny. I just told Feigen (reporter of Houston Chron) that I plan to stay in America for a while, have a surgery. Maybe my English is too poor, he thought that I am not gonna leave Houston at all." Yao Ming doesn't know how the false information was created. But Feigen also says that, actually he didn't write that part of the false information, maybe another reporter who was present heard wrongly, and put up the wrong news.

Now Yao Ming urgently needs to take care of his injury:" Right ankle/heel (I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE CHINESE WORD) was injured during regular season, you all know that. Later it was sort of taken care of, but there're still some bits of bone pieces and fluid in there, I would like to have them taken out. Minor surgery, no problem." Yao Ming is not too worried about his surgery, but when asked about his other plans, Yao Ming's answer is more formal:" Actually the plan for my training and tournament back in China has always been discussed between 'Team Yao' and the parties in China. They will notify me when the time comes. I just follow the plans. I am very willing to serve my country. Just that I hope there's not too many tours, otherwise my stamina will be spent on the journeys. I fly almost everyday in NBA, now whenever I see a plane on the sky I feel tired. "

Man i hope this is not true. I thought we just read several articles over the past few days that said he did not want to go back to China this summer. Can anyone confirm this? would think they would mention this on 610 or 790.

If he did same thing as WZZ, Yaoming's spirit energy will be
hurt permanently. He need to come back to his homeland to recharge.

That is fine, no one is opposed to him going back to China to vacation, what people are worried about is that he will be playing in meaningless games that don't mean anything for China, but just to make money off him. Only the Rockets should be able to make money off Yao, since that is what they are paying him his salary for. That is the reason why NBA clubs buy out players from their international obligations to their clubs/other local clubs, because they don't want anyone else to exploit them financially while their NBA team is paying them their entire salaries.

    Yao just has no choice.

If he refuses to go back to play for CNT, I doubt there will be another chinese NBA player for the next decade.

I understand that, I don't think anyone is blaming Yao personally for any of this, we are just frustrated with the CNT system
