I think that was pretty commonly known. I think it is logical since they arrived at the same time and joined a group of people who had already been together for years, so they pretty much had to integrate themselves into the group at the same time and went through similar experiences. Also, I think they play video games together a lot . From what I have seen, they also seem to play well together when they are on the court together. I still hope Boki will become a solid contributor in the future, it would be nice if we could keep him around.
The main reason i like Boki is because the guy flat out hussles, i mean he knows hes not getting much time in the game BUT still works his ass off!
If only Nachbar could put the ball in the hole. He does pretty much everything well except put the ball in the basket. He rebounds, is feisty on D, moves really well without the basketball, passes well, can slash to the basket any time he wants. The only thing left is for him to learn is to finish plays by making the layup or wide open jumper.
we know he can shoot. at the start of the season when he was getting PT he was knocking down 3's every game. he just needs a chance. hopefuly he will get it next season.
As someone mentioned before, he can actually shoot. The biggest problem I've observed is the unwillingness to pass/trust from his teamates. I didn't watch yesterday's game, but early in the season, Steve/Cat/JJ often chose to ignore him even when he was the only one wide open. Some SOF said Boki hadn't earned the trust from his teamates yet.
Trust wasn't a problem last night... Boki got JJ's normal wide open 3 looks thru the offense... and missed them all (4, I believe). This is the shooting we're reffering to. If its just a simple case of not getting enough playing time, then tough luck... cause hitting these shots is the ONLY way he'll start getting more. Look at Pike... even though he hardly plays from game to game, when he's in there, and if he gets a wide open 3, he nails it. That's what Boki needs to do as well.
Boki is stuck in the chicken or egg scenario right now he needs playing time to get better long term and JVG needs to play players who can contribute right now i for one still believe he could be a solid player and maybe still a starter... his size is nice his rebouding and defense are improved, his slashing is great...... no doubts he can shoots.. just needs a break and confidence and they start to drop in games
This is the same reason I really will never give up on the guy. Every facet of his offense is something special except his shooting. He's got decent handles until he drives into the paint. He's a 6'-9" or 6'10" player with cutting ability. He's aggressive as hell in the paint at times. He just can't seem to hit a shot during a real game. Even the Raptors commentators were saying how he was nailing jumpers from everywhere during practice. I've just never seen a player that is so snakebit with his jumpshot... well, there's Steve, I guess.
I doubt that. he is still on rookie scale..and has one more year on his contract iirc... if he doesnt show more of what he did against the Raps...then the team may not pick up his team option...or involve him in a trade...but it is highly unlikely they waive him outright.
while injuries are not good in general, for boki to get PT and confidence he may need that right now. he was in the game mostly because JJ was hurt. so he and AG got more time. i think boki can be a very good player, but he definitely needs more PT.
Watch Yao on the bench when Boki is in the game....Yao flys out of his seat everytime Boki shoots or shows any minimal flash....Yao pulls for him at every turn..... They are luvvvvvas
