I knew it was coming, but it's still very tough to read.

Took long enough to make, what I thought was, a fairly simple decision. Maybe they're just now coming out with it, but the decision was made weeks ago. Who knows.

Finally a decision is made. He should have done this earlier. Good luck Yao and hope for a speedy and full recovery.

I'm glad he decided to go the "Ilgauskas" route and get those puppies realigned.

Best of luck to the big guy!

Good. I believe the realignment of the bones is the best long term option for Yao. Hopefully the surgery will work as well as it did for Ilgauskas.

I agree. It is the best option. If they had just placed more pins in it, I would have little comfort in re-signing Yao because his foot problems would persist. Now, with the bone grafts, perhaps his foot won't continually break and we can get full seasons of Yao for many years to come.

Saw Yao walking out of Hong Kong Food Street lastnight, he was still limping pretty bad with a small boot.

It is hard to walk with a boot. You have no choice but to limp with it, really.

Good luck Yao. I hope you have a speedy recovery and can come back mid season next year.

This really sucks though. I dont expect Yao to play more then 28 minutes a game anymore and I expect him to be like Big Z.

All the Yao haters can hate all they want, but when big guys like superman and tracy morgan come to the toyota center they're gonna miss the great wall.

What about his other foot? Isn't there risk of getting that injured too without this type of surgery?
