http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2282149 HOUSTON -- Houston center Yao Ming has begun light workouts and said he expects to return to action in two to three weeks after surgery on an infected big toe. Yao said the Dec. 19 surgery on his left foot relieved tremendous pain, but also said the prospect of surgery made him nervous about hurting his career. "My toe before the surgery hurt me every time I step on the floor, particularly with the basketball shoes and the tape on my ankle," Yao told Houston television station KRIV. Yao is now getting antibiotics via an IV in his left arm, and doctors plan to remove the IV in about a week, he said.
yeah, you'll need to post a link here, but I do recall seeing something regarding this on the TNT broadcast or something last night. or it might have been on FSN, can't remember. basically, he's resumed light workouts and plans to be back, as you said, in 2 to 3 weeks. Longest 2-3 weeks ever...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2282149 Sounds incredible, since the doctors said he wouldn't be allowed to step on a court to practice until that time (2-3 weeeks from now). I'll be happy to see him back! Evan
Momma's chicken dumplings will speed up the healing process. Anyways I hope he plays in the Miami game. I still think he will come back before Chinese New Year.
whats wrong with Yao's shoes? are they too small? it seems like his feet trouble stem from having the wrong fit shoes. J
Just hope he's not trying to come back before he's completely healed. Better for him to rest for how ever long it takes now than to risk making this a recurring problem.
so poor guy was in pain all this time..and he didnt want to do surgery cause he thought it would hurt his career. i bet he will come back and average 21-11 every game.
If Rafer keeps playing like he is and Yao does come back those 3-4 games to be in playoff contention don't seem so far away.
So it's the week from 22-28 or the next. Along the way, they have been saying 6-8 weeks, it's really 6 weeks then.
I hope he is not pushing it too much. I want him to take as much time as he needs so this doesnt happen again. We dont want a Barry to happen and get our hopes up only to last a couple mins.
Looks like Yao really is trying to get back in time for the Miami game on the 29th! Great news about Yao!!!!
