Yao started to post on the BBS of his own website on 18/09, saying he didn't lo on there before just because he forgot his own password He's posted several times since then. Talked about his time on line: 11:30-12:30 at noon and 6:00-11:00 at night. Even told a funny story about the Chinese National Team. http://yaoming.newclub.sohu.com/forum.jsp?club=-1&forum=1 (it's in Chinese, sorry don't have time to translate, maybe someone here can help)
Thats cool. Someone should refer him to Clutchcity.net and he can come in here and conversate with his fans on his days off.
Thanks for the info, clearbamboo. For a rough translation, those interested can go to babelfish.altavista.com and it will translate the site from Chinese into English. Even after the translation it is hard to understand what is going on all the time. But if this is really Yao Ming, then it is cool that he does post for his fans.
I cannot imagine how smart and humorous Yao is before I read his own writing on that Chinese BBS. He's one of the best story tellers I have seen. He knows all the internet jargons, well, in Chinese, so he should definitely practice his English here.
Someone on his fan site already translated his posts which are as follows: (courtesy of ************.com by sinoball) 2003-9-18 8:15pm Title: My first post Sorry everyone. Because I forgot my password I didn't have a chance all this time to go online to respond to the posts. (Faint, I can even forget my password, next time it'll probably be my name) I posted many today, I feel great. I hope everyone post if they have some suggestions of questions. However!!!! I hope everyone care about me a little bit, considering there're a few questions that I'm not suited in answering. Thank you. Isn't it a little corny? This is not an acceptance speech, just treat it as some report from a rookie (One poster replied at 8:41pm: I don't know what to say now.) Yao Ming (8:49pm): I'm leaving, I still have a few challenges left in "Frozen Throne", I have to play it now. I'll come back later. Byebye. Poster1: Haha, you finally appear!) (Poster2: Yao Ming you have to come here more often!) (Poster3: Hello Yao Ming, rest well, I hope you make progresses in the upcoming games.) (Poster4 (Liu Wei?): If you come here at least tell me first, I need some famous person to give me some spotlight. That's not like a friend.) (Poster5: Brother Liu Wei, show us some identifications!) (Poster6: Liu Wei, really? I love seeing you playing as well! As of Yao Ming, haha!) (Poster7: Is this Liu Wei real?) Yao Ming (11.36pm): Because there's only one ethernet cable in this room, if I am surfing the net Liu Wei can only play games. What does that tell you? I'm not saying more. 2003-9-19 4:59pm Author: Yao Ming Registered: August 2003 Title: I saw Chinese Taipei Team This morning after practice I saw the bus of Chinese Taipei Team arriving at the stadium to familiarize the court, so I told Bateer: "Big Ba, get ready to get in the house and rob." There was a story, in 2001, when Wang Fei led the National Team, he told us centers: "You'all have to remember, the post is your house. The opponent will come in and rob your car, your electronics, your food, your bank notes, your wife and children. (At that time, the assistant coach then Jerry (Note: Jarinn Akana, currently assistant coach of the Denver Nuggets) added: "and girlfriend too", which made Coach Wang staring at him.) You can't let the players from other teams get in, otherwise you're failing." Two months later in the East Asian Games, we played Taipei, I forgot which period it was, but Bateer had 21 points in a row in 8 plays, every time he just went straight to the post, receive the ball, spin-move, shoot, and score, including 5 "and-one" free throws. Wang Zhizhi sitting on the bench, said, "Big Ba rushed in their house and robbed the car, smashed the TV, stole the washing machine, took the wife away, and injured one (An unlucky guy had 5 fouls in a row and got fouled out.) " I don't know if someone would die in a few days? I have seen that (unlucky) guy today. There's this thread "Who's the ugliest guy in the NBA?" Yao Ming: 2003-9-18 6:25pm I hope it's not me, for example.... I can't say, I still have to play over there, I should have good relationships with them ^_^ Then there's this thread "Who's the most handsome guy in the NBA?" Yao Ming:2003-9-18 6:28pm I don't think it's me, even though I really want to improve in this category, I don't know how I would proceed T_T There's one guy asking if he comes to the other Chinese site www.chinayao.com Yao Ming: 2003-9-19 5:33pm I've been there, but you know this is my official website, so sorry. One poster wrote this: Title: Yao Ming! Danger! Recently Yao Ming participates in many social activities all the time. There's nothing wrong for doing good things to the society, but some people always use Yao Ming for advertisement, for them to earn money, and causing Yao Ming not focusing on his game. If this keeps on Yao Ming will be destroyed. Yao Ming you shouldn't be passionate like a Buddha again, when you have to say no you say no. Play well, otherwise it's dangerous. Right? Yao Ming wrote: 2003-9-18 6:38pm Thank you for your honest suggestion, I'll take heed. But when you think back, sometimes I have to do things that I have to do. One (stupid) poster wrote: Title: Is Yao Ming really that good? Other than height, does he really have other advantages in the NBA? Does he realy deserve so much flattering just because he's the tallest? Or is it due to nationalism? Yao Ming replied: 2003-9-18 7:16pm You're absolutely right, I'm not that good, but I'll try get better every day.

When will you take your fans to eat? (days later) Yao Ming: 2003-9-18 8:45pm Thanks for your good will. But shouldn't you take me to eat, it's my birthday! Just kidding. There's a commercial thread: 2003-9-16 A real estate, 8-story (in total 11 stories including the lower levels), 2 living rooms, facing south, 62 square meters. Location is Xujiahui Shuangfeng Road (near Zhongshan South Second Road, Wanping Road). This estate used to be house of Yao Ming (1988-2002, when Shanghai Athletic Department gave the house to his parents), now is reparing to original form. We would sell it for 550 thousand Chinese Yuan, if interested, contact.... Yao Ming wrote: 2003-9-18 7:20pm I thought it was sold for more than a year! Or are you the one who bought my house one year ago? A poster wrote: When I looked at the photos of Yao Ming playing video games, I suddenly realized---his mouse is too small! Everybody think, how big is Yao Ming's hand, and wouldn't it be very difficult for him to use a normal sized mouse! Yao Ming wrote: 2003-9-18 7:59pm Haha, I have a big mouse. A poster wrote: Is Yao Ming good at CS (game)? Yao Ming wrote: 2003-9-18 7:38pm I like to use AWP, I'm so-so, I played for one and a half year. Nobody played with me in America, so I kind of forgot all about it. I'm an old "newbie" now. Another idiot wrote: Is Yao Ming an international megastar? Ask yourself, so-called "international megastar", how much did he earn by his skills? As a rookie he can take part in the All-Star Game, and he can start, it's pretty honoring us, isn't it? But who can say proudly he had achieved the level of an All-Star? I remember before the game someone asked Yao Ming how many points he plans to score, Yao asked back: How many points did Francis score in his first All-Star Game? When he knew it was 2 points, Yao said: I have to be better than that, right? What about the fact? He's not better! Not to mention anything else, he had never had any advantage against Wang Zhizhi. Yao Ming replied: 2003-9-18 7:30pm "Internaional Megastar" is what other people think, I think of myself as a player.
clearbamboo, that's great! thanks for the info. I like the fact that Yao interacts with his fans often & treating them as friends.
WE WANT YAO! He's a funny guy! And lol...he plays Warcraft! And Counter-Strike...I know. I bet he's the only NBA player who plays computer games like Warcraft and Counter-Strike.
I already asked him about cc.net, but he didn't come today and there are hundreds of posts in one day, I guess he can't find mine
By the way, I suggest some of you guys to join Yao's BBS & teach him some english And don't forget to tell him about this place when he answered your questions
I just now posted a message there, asking Yao Ming to visit here sometime. The thing is we have such ass tight verification before one can be accepted as member. If the real Yao Ming sees my message and deciside to give it try and find out that he cant log on right away, that's going to turn him off right away. We need to find a way to leave the door open for him. His IP log was turned off in that sohu bbs. We need some help from sohu to find about his IP.
