    Yao speaks today in Cali

    A good buddy of mine called me just awhile ago from the Bay area. Apparently Yao and the Chinese team had another press conference similar to the one in Canada. He says one of the local sports guys out there asked Yao what he was gonna buy first when he arrived in Houston. Yao's reply was: "...a Lincoln Navigator."

    He was also asked if he was ready or close to signing his contract and he said "no" very quickly. I'm not sure what that was all about.

    I'm hoping some of the local stations have some stuff tonight.

    i think yao is getting pissed at not being here in houston, i think he hate his scrub teammates. I think he hate having to be bossed around and having to wait to sign with us. I think he hates that he has to give half his money to his team and others. I think he just wants to be left alone and be a norml nba player on 1 team.

    Yao has to roll in style like the rest of the Rockets! Hell If I'm not mistaken I think all of them own a navigator!:rolleyes:

    maybe he wasnt joking. he does need a pretty big car.

    now if he said he was gonna tint it up, throw 24's on it, and put in a hot sound system...

    Yao blurting out "no" about his contract...no worries, but maybe while Wang ZhiZhi is giving China the finger (conspiracy theory #134: thanks for orchestrating that, Mark Cuban), Yao can't sign his own contract...China and its "save-face" culture....

    I called my buddy back to confirm. He corrected me. Yao said his favorite American car is the "Lincoln Jeep". He just assumed he meant Navigator.

    And he said "not yet" to having signed his contract. I should have gotten my facts straight before posting. I'm guess the Chron and the San Fran/Oakland papers will have more in the morning.

    11's report just ended. Not much news. He did say his favorite food is "steak". He's coming to the right state then.
