Very Nice long video with excellent footage, however since their are so many laughable Yao Ming videos on YouTube, I wouldn't use that to help you backup your case. People will always call Yao Ming soft, simply because he's not made from U.S It's the reality. Nobody really calls or notices Chris Bosh is soft around here even though he clearly is. It's just that he's from America and he's black. I hate to sound a bit racist, but all the guys that have a big rep of being soft are international Gasol, Dirk, and Yao. I don't consider any of them soft at all, but most people do and it's clearly unfair.
It's not that he can't be aggressive...it's that he didn't do it enough. You're basically showing the aggressive Yao but i think more of his game are softer than aggressive if you compare the 2.
Yao ming is soft. lets face it rather then deny it. He is a great center and who says we can't with a soft center.
So your video does not validate that Yao is an aggressive player because an aggressive player do it more often and more consistent and scare the heck out of people like Shaq. Yao probably aggressive in 2 out of 10 games.
Yao is not as athletic as Dwight, not as talented as tracy. not as aggressive as shap. But there is one thing i am quite sure about him. He gives his all to the Houston and his national team. I do not know how you American guys think of Yao. In my opinion, houston is just so lucky to have yao. Hopefully yao will bring at least one trophy to houston which would be a happy ending for both him and houston.
That is so stupid. It has nothing to do with race. People don't talk about Bosh because folks outside of Toronto don't even see them play. Shaq already called him RuPaul. Dirk is considered soft because he's a 7 footer that hardly plays down low. If you don't think Dirk is soft, something is wrong with you. Some folks call Yao soft because he doesn't dunk everything near the goal. Black or White, they'd still call Yao soft.
Yao is not soft. He's just slow and that is why he doesn't grab every rebound and it the reason he doesn't dunk as much as people want. Just because you're 7'7 doesn't make things easy. Also I think Yao isn't aggressive all the time because the way the refs officiates him makes him thing twice. If the refs were more consistent with him I think he would be more consistent in being very aggressive.

I agree, no matter where you are from, Yao's effort is undeniable. If you really want to talk about being soft, I would imagine a large percentage of members here couldn't keep up with Yao's workouts. There's no doubt he gives his all. He just happens to be a bit slower and not as athletic due to his size. The Rockets chose to take the good with the bad knowing the good outweighed the bad. Not only on the court, but in dollars as well.
Hakeem is not from America did they call him soft? What about Duncan, also not from America, is he soft? DD
no but they are black. and he clearly said either american or black. i agree with him 100 percent. it is a bit one sided if u dont think so u r blind.
They're black which is why they aren't considered soft. Duncan? He's pretty much from America, It's not like he come from some random Europe or Asian place.
